Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Is anybody holding out to see if the LTE data drop issues are resolved? If anything, this is the one thing from keeping me upgrading to ANY LTE phone.

If I have to give up unlimited data and pay more for data drop issues, well no thank you, I'll keep my 3G phone. Or move if this does not get resolved.

the only lte phone I had data drops with was the nexus. My thunderbolt and maxx now have no issues.

I read the other threads thank you and the phone I played with had none of those issues.... Not to mention you realize people having no issues are not going to post saying how great the phone is? These are forums and the minority of people with issues come to sites like these asking for help. By no means the majority.

There are large threads on these issues on XDA too. Way more than a few people. Playing with a phone in the store for 10 minutes is nothing like owning one. I am more willing to take the word of people who own the device.

Not to mention the ones with the issues are majority of the international users which even in the phonedog review they said the US version seemed to handle opening apps a little better than the quad core version. Maybe that extra ram really is helping. I prefer to base experiences on when I use the phone since it has a lot of factors and can change from 1 person to the next.

Butters, I trust ME, so will wait and see myself. Also, people I trust like the device and not reporting significant issues.

You can trust whoever you want :) I am weary though in threads of trolls, baiters, and people that messed something up and then complain of issues. I would suggest some portion fits this for this device too, like any other.

..... On second thought, not sure about the ME part.

XDA is notorious for nitpicking and bait threads over there. If you read some of the threads you can see it is clear not everyone has the phone that they "claim they do"

I hope this is real, that would mean that there is no ugly Verizon logo on top of the home button. Oh and our phones would be shipping soon, that's always a plus.

i am loving this phone more and more by the minute no ugly branding in the front, replaceable battery cover on the back oh man this is awesome.

I went from everyday having several or more data drops with the Razr, to zero in a week since the ICS update.

The radio was updated too. Seems that fixed it for the Razr.

More and more I keep coming back to this phone to replace my nexus. Still, I can't help but be a bit gun-shy on the device.

I hope this phone is everything the Nexus was suppose to be. Great radios, great cameras, unlock able boot loader, great call quality, SD card slot so I don't have to fight with those stupid windows 7 fast boot drivers (as much).

Anyone else sick of Samsung's multi-carrier worldwide flagship phone taking a back seat to Verizon's "Droid" branding? I think that might even be as much (or more) of a factor in the delay than bloat. At least I hope it is. Infatuation with one's own marketing push is more palatable than having BING on my phone.

they paid a lot of money for the rights to use "droid." you best believe they are going to advertise the hell out of it.

Called Verizon yesterday and asked about my shipping date. The guy took about 5 minutes to find the order and said, " Jul 9th ". I thanked him and hung up. They keep them in the dark and feed them mushroom nutrients.

Great video!!! But can we trust a guy that eats Honey Nut Cherrios (box just over left shoulder in video )? Come on man Frosted Flakes is where it's at.

How dare you disparage the good name of Honey Nut Cheerios! Dont you know that Bee fought for his hive? He was helpless as he saw his brother torn to pieces by wasps in the Great Bee-Wasp War of 1963! For shame good sir, for shame!

I liked his look at Jelly Bean as well, made me kind of jealous of GNex users.

Hey! Let's have some fun. The next person that posts a message like "I called VZW and they said ....", we post Holy Grail comments? :) ;)

It will be next week folks, so inhale, exhale and now focus on the ever elusive VZW demo sighting. A person in Lexington has a demo at the moment, but has yet to respond to any questions from people. He posts on G+ to gloat (I guess) and then nuttin'. Ah vanity.

If you guys get bored, please join over at the Nexus 7 forum, where some Cloud people are getting defensive of the N7 and its lack of external storage :)

Why are you calling us ? How are we suppose to know anything that goes on here at the place we work, but while we have you on the phone would you like to switch your plan over to our new & exciting shared data plan?

If the N7 had a card slot, me too :) But does not, so my View will have to do.

Next week we should have the SG3 and then a lot of the folks that were impatient will be the same people posting of problems :) Seems to always work that way.

Added: Treb, that is accurate AND tragic.

I stopped by my local Verizon yesterday... And rep. showed me the cases for the S3. (Note, only the cases) . I think she had more fun taking them out of the packaging than I did. This phone really doesn't seem that huge. I am glad to have pre~ ordered it! I did order both, white and blue.... I am such a chick, still unable to make up my mind.

I'll be holding out for 13.9 days to see. If it's no-go, then on the 14th day of X-mas, er, mean 14th day of July, it will be going back.

Just be glad we didn't get the red color like AT&T, then what would you have done .

No that doesn't bother me one bit because I don't think it makes a difference. I see enough advertising of this phone on tech blogs/forums and even on Youtube.

And yet you still called asking them....
I called them today and asked if there was a change to my delivery date from when I called 4 hours ago. I asked if they had any LTE reception issues and he said no, not on the ones with the black cases made from aluminum, only the plastic blue ones. I told him how disappointed I was waiting for VZW to release the phone while other carriers had them already. I had mentioned I wanted to keep my UL data plan and he said, sorry for the inconvenience, VZW will actually pay me to use the phone for 2 years.
So, I'm getting a nice black aluminum phone with no LTE issues tomorrow and VZW is paying me $190/mo for the inconvenience of waiting.

Wait, I just called VZW again 5 minutes ago to verify what the rep told me and she now stated since I called three times in the same day, the offer was void. Dam, back to purple plastic with 32gb and UL data that I have to pay for. Shouldn't have called that 3rd time.
