[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

So when I flashed M5, I figured I would give the stock kernel (faux) a shot. I'm QUITE impressed. I have always gone back to Lean Kernel, but I'm not sure. My phone seems to love the crap out of the M5 stock kernel. 😍

I stick with Faux as well. Loving it

I tried out the 4.0.4 radios with AOKP M5, noticed some major differences over 4.0.2 stock. I get on average about 2 more bars everywhere I go, 4g went from 3-5mbps to 7-9mbps down. The 3g/4g handoff takes about 10 seconds compared to several minutes. Haven't experienced the one way voice issue since I installed the ROM and radios, wrong app opening glitch is gone, haven't had any random reboots or freezes, and my battery only dropped 4% overnight, before it would be at 80% when I slept and be dead when I woke up. it's pretty much just better in every way.

does anyone have a link to just the faux kernel i cant find it anywhere?

Not off hand, but if you're on M5 and have not flashed anything over top of it except an alternative kernel you can always just re-flash M5 and gapps. Not ideal, but accomplishes the same thing.

Sorry if this has been asked, but is there a known fix for an error message while trying to make a purchase in the Play store?

What gapps are you using?

According to what the error is, if you have installed inverted play store keep in mine it now uses phonsky.apk instead of vendor.apk.

If the above is not the case go to apps/all/google services framework/ and clear cache and or data. Then, in the same list go to Play store and do the same.

Then reboot and try again.

Using Boot Manager I am running AOKP B34 & Lean Kernel 3.3.0 exp1 as the phone ROM and the XDA download of the Deodexed and Rooted Verizon recent 4.0.4 update in slot one.

The parking lot of my job has great 4G so I did several speed tests going back and forth and got consistent results of AOKP B34 having faster downloads and both ROMs doing about the same in the upload department.

To me there is more than meets the eye in the AOKP build with a developer kernel, than a stock build and kernel eh?

thats the thing, ive flashed other zips over the top of M5...thats y i asked if anyone had a link to it...

Oh sorry i misunderstood then. So you're on a different ROM but you want the kernel from AOKP M5?

no im actually on M5 but i flashed a different kernel which didnt work out for me the way i wanted, so i was looking for the faux kernel but i may just wait till the next release...

Fauxs kernel is available for the masses here is the url ....... http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12512-gn-ltehybrid-3029-ics40234pre-uvoctuncifsotgfiopsv016apr-27/

edit: sorry was on phone app click here for stock M5 kernel which is Faux's 16m

You can look at his thread here to get more info or copy and paste the http link above I posted. His thread is very informative :)

I hate to even type this in case it jinxes me, but... this is the best ROM to date for my phone. I'm using the kernel that comes with the ROM and it's crazy battery life. I'm getting .5-1% an hour over night.

It's a blessing and curse too: It's so good I actually don't want to flash another ROM for once.

Didn't work. The error is "An error occurred. Please try again."

OK, the way I found out the method I suggested is through the Google play site. I navigated to customer service our support and filled out a form.

In this form they want a phone number. Be prepared for them to possibly call you immediately. If you have a land line give that so the device wil be free to work with.

They will look at your how your Google account is interfacing with the play app and see if it needs to be reset as this is sometimes the case.

Good luck.

I do have the phonsky.apk inverted app. I get that same error message. Fix didn't work for me either.
