[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

So I think I am doing something wrong with Boot Manager. Not sure what is going on. Installed it, ran it, set my phone rom up. Installed Liquid as my slot 1 rom. Now I booted into the slot 1 rom just fine. Once I get everything set up in that ROM, I then went back into Boot Manager, and hit Phone ROM, and it says there isn't one installed. In fact it doesn't even show Liquid as slot 1 either. I went into astro, and what it shows as my SD card, has almost nothing on it. Went to Boot manager in Astro, and nothing under Phone ROM or Slot 1.

So I reboot to recovery, go to BootManager>PhoneRom>and install the update.zip and reboot. Now I am back into my Phone ROM, which shows AOKP as my phone ROM and Liquid as my slot rom. Have done this over and over again a couple of times.

Any ideas???

You're sure you've set up AOKP as your phone ROM? You have to do that manually

Hey JB

Once AOKP gets the theme engine, will you be putting up theme engine themes with play store links like you're putting up themes and links now?

just a general question, is there any way to add zip files to the root of your SD card so that they are flashable without the use of a USB cord? Im currently at school and want to try out the new nexusplus theme but dont have one at my disposal. Ive been in other situations like this before so im just curious if theres a way around it. thanks!

Just download it directly with your phone

Yup, I am sure. Used the update zip, from Cwm, to get back to phone rom. Then did it manually with the same result.

It's as if the slot rom can't see the sd card, because all the folders that are on the sd card are empty when I am in the slot rom.

I wonder if it is because liquid has gapps built in... Not sure, just grasping now...

I was a heavy boot manager a few months ago. And.. Come to think of it the only ROM I couldn't get to work was liquid. Not the same issue as you though; it wouldn't boot for me. Maybe unrelated, but it also might be a liquid compatibility issue

How can you do this? This is the exact reason I thought it was pointless. But if you can move a slot ROM into your phone ROM, then it's definitely worth it.

I haven't used it at all since playing with it a month or so ago. I was under the assumption you couldn't move a slot to phone.

I think its about 5 minuted into their video tutorial, but when booted into a slot rom, open boot manager (BM) and chose Setup Phone. Then move the selector to phone rom and boot it and you will see that the slot rom is now the phone rom. Then delete all slots and your left with the new phone rom.

Even without that feature its nice to try before you buy.

There are other things to get used to though. When using BM you want to use their "Install Zip" when doing any flashing on a given ROM. Using Rom Manager to flash can confuse it I believe.

When you load a ROM into a slot it will have check boxes for doing a full wipe, That is not the same as wiping the phone so fear not, but do it for ROM flashing only. No need for other flashes.

Sweet!

Not only has the theme engine merged in gerrit, but further patch sets to make the themes integrate as smooth as possible is presently being reviewed. Ought to be killer!

Have you tried liquid for a slot rom? I am having trouble with booting into the slot rom and boot manager no longer seeing the phone rom or slot rom.

I think Liquid did give me problems. Try cm9 or BAMF to get your bearings with the app. Thats what I did. Now I just try new AOKP releases.

Cool, thanks!! I think I will try ICSourcery or BAMF...

Another question for everyone.

I have started having issues where wifi just doesn't connect any longer and I have to turn off wifi and back on, so that it will connect. Using LK 3.4 exp 230, utilizing the setup that jmartino suggested: Link to post

Anyone else having wifi issues, or do I need start back over with the kernel?

Its so difficult to troubleshoot when your running mods. Can you go back to the stock kernel and see how it acts? Did it ever behave properly? It randomly just started giving you these issues?

I knew you'd be the voice of reason... :D

Yeah, I don't remember it happening, but can't place whether it started when I changed the kernel, or when I updated to M5.

Though I have the LED set to WHITE in the ROM control, I find that sometimes it it flashing green or blue. Where am i missing the setting to keep all LED signals white?

When does it flash blue or green? For what app/notification?

Maybe instead of flashing the stock kernel (Faux's 16 mainline) you could just flash Imo's kernel again, but not do the tweaks you had done (unless your not partial to Imo's kernels). See if you have the issue. Then start tweaking slowly as you did from jmar's post and see if you can catch the culprit

I think Google Talk is green and Facebook might be blue. Would those settings be found IN the apps themselves?

That is weird! GTalk doesn't have any LED noti settings. Idk about facebook I don't use the app.

So your not using any kind of 3rd party app that can customize the LED? Lightflow? Anything?

Really looking forward to B35 and the theme engine!
