[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Just a quick question...but is your NFC turned on? (Its in Settings > More....)The above steps to restore wallet after a new ROM have worked for me, every time. I have also had my wallet update to the newest version etc. Just keep in mind that since you (and most of us) already have wallet..(the download work-around used to work in order to install it..and I am not sure that there is an available apk with the newest updates for VZW anyways.) then just reloading the app should enable your phone to work. Can you check to just make sure that NFC is on? It works for me...as long as I hold the phone on the pay pass machine till it tells me it went through it works great.
And good luck!!
Yeah, it is on. I'm not that bad. I'll keep experimenting. Like I said, it looks like everything should work, except nothing happens when I hold the phone up to the machine. I've tried on two different machines in the same store, so I'll try somewhere else.

I got the original apk off of a rom, the only download workaround I tried didn't work, so I haven't been able to upgrade. R57v4 is what I have.

Has anyone else noticed? I got tired of waiting for the OTA and rooted again. Currently running AOKP B/37. There is an extra blue box inside the browser search box that I never noticed before. Never saw it while stock, at least I think it wasn't there. I also notice it on my Incredible running CM9. Am I just crazy?

I've noticed it for the past few builds. Anyone else?

Who here uses Trebuchet? I've just been using Nova as a default, as I'm not very interested in theming my phone, I like the stock look and feel, but I like the simple mods like adding home screens, swipe gestures, etc.

What sort of features does Trebuchet have that Nova doesn't? I've heard that it's smoother overall, but my phone is pretty snappy as it is, it's hard to imagine it being faster, but maybe somebody here has tried both and sees a noticable difference? Any thoughts?

Chime in here jbdan, I know you're a proponent :D

I love Trebuchet. It has no features that Nova doesn't have. A lot less features in fact. That is it's appeal. You'll have to try it and see if you like it. Easy to install and remove :)

I tried to install it today to try it out this week, but I couldn't figure it out. I followed the instructions in the first post:

Download and put on sdcard. Using Root Explorer, open and change permission in upper right hand corner to say "Mount R/O" (this means it is in R/W or read/write) then navigate to Trebuchet.apk. Longpress Trebuchet.apk then click copy. Go back twice and navigate to system/app and click paste. Go back to your home screen by hitting home soft key and try out the new launcher.

But when I hit the home soft key, I just went to my standard home screen and launcher (Nova). Nothing changed. So I went into Apps>Nova>Clear Defaults, then hit Home. It prompted me to select which launcher to use, but it only gave me the options of Launcher (which is the stock ICS Launcher) and Nova.

Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Zaphod's putting out some nice mods for this ROM (well a lot of folk are), but this looks hot! Sneak peak at some noti toggles:

Where or how do u get these toggles? Didn't see under mods and themes

That's odd. Did you use Root Explorer to copy it to the system/app folder? Did you try rebooting the device after you copied the Trebuchet.apk to that folder?

@jbdan - Does this launcher even get updated any more?

I didn't reboot, that may have been the problem. I'll give it another try tonight.

UPDATE: Reboot didn't work. Is there anything I have to do once the Trebuchet.apk file is in the system/apps/ folder? Do I have "install" it or something?

Weird it works for me every time, no reboot required. Are you using root explorer and pasting it in /system/app? Oh, maybe it's because I didn't include to set permissions to rw r r after pasting :o

Try that

That screen shot is from Jan 4th. It's really old and the ROM looks much different now. The UI has matured to what it looks like present day. There are however, a few custom looks you can give it located in rom control> status bar

That's odd. Did you use Root Explorer to copy it to the system/app folder? Did you try rebooting the device after you copied the Trebuchet.apk to that folder?

Yes I think so. Although the link in the OP is for a stand-alone version and is a little older. The selling point is this launcher is as close to stock, with some nice tweaks, tiny footprint, but runs miles smoother than most if not all.

This may have been asked already, but I don't see it in the OP, so are there any mods that change the NAV BAR from black background to a transparent background?

I think this would be sweet!

That would be super sweet I agree! None that I know of yet

I may be wrong, but think you can do this from Rom Controls. No mods needed.

Ugh once again, I need GPS today and its not working. Anyone else having issues on b37?

Thanks.

No issue at all. After a full wipe and install last night, after reading your post I just fired up a navigation address and it took only a few seconds to lock in. From inside my home.

I know this is off subject but
All the themes work for my d4 on the theme chooser

But "nexus plus" made me bootloop when I flashed the zip..I wiped everything..
Any way I could make it work for my d4?..we have safe strap if that helps to kno

You might want to ask the developer for the ++nexus++ theme about your D4. I had the bionic and used boot strap, but I'm not familiar enough with moto devices to advise you. MR. H3LLMAN is the NexusPlus developer

Does anyone here use the GLaDOS kernel? Was thinking of trying it again. But I had issues with it (and the dev) in the past. Is it worth trying? That said, the dev recommends going back to the stock rom kernel before trying it. Can anyone point me to a download of the stock Faux kernel that comes with b37?

Thanks.
