[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Last night I realized my firewall (Droidwall) was blocking the ROM, which is why my weather wasn't working. I set it to allow the ROM to access the internet.

A few minutes later the phone rebooted. Odd, that's never happened before. Didn't think much of it.

About half an hour later, it rebooted again when I plugged it in for the night. Apparently it rebooted yet again about 3 or 4 hours later, as the boot audio woke up the wife.

When I woke up this morning it was in a boot loop. I pulled the battery, let the phone cool down, and rebooted. This time I turned off the weather, all was well.

I figured "No way can it be the weather -- that's never happened before!" so I turned it back on. No problems for a half hour or so, made a phone call, and shortly there after another reboot.

Since then I've turned off the weather, and no problems.

Clean install, inverted apps, Franco's nightly #173, no other big changes (installed ColorNote and a game, but it ran fine all day with those on there -- issues started when the weather was enabled).

Thoughts? Anyone else with a similar issue?

Have you tried enabling the weather WITHOUT droidwall enabled/installed?

At your suggestion, I turned off the firewall but left droidwall installed. No reboots for a few hours, and with a number of texts during that time.

Turned Droidwall back on, but disabled the lockscreen weather. Fine so far, with a few more texts.

Curious. I'll let it go for a bit longer, and try turning back on the lockscreen weather. If it reboots again, I can live without lockscreen weather. As it is, it's pretty obvious to me it's warm and sunny just by looking out the window :-)

Anyone notice this problem with Droidwall? It doesn't work over 3g for me, only wifi.

Correction: it doesn't work SOMETIMES. I haven't figured out what causes it to stop, or if it also can affect wifi, but a reboot or reinstall seem to be the only way to fix it, although I haven't tried a forceclose yet.

maybe its already in there, if it is then sorry, but i was hoping that b38 has the sense 4 recent app switcher like that in Hybrid Rom...

Can someone post the b37 download? I'm on the eclipse rom, and while it is nice, it only had the Swype keyboard, and no option to brighten the soft keys or hide the alarm clock, thanks :-)

Want a miui look and feel, but don't want to flash miui rom? Check the OP for new Dream theme and MiHome launcher. ;)

One thing I notice without looking for it is my device running B37 & LeanKernel 3.8.0 generates less felt heat.

I run navigation everyday after work to monitor Traffic view and I always get at least one call. I always dread the heat of the handset against my face. For the last week I have been pleasantly surprised.
I also do not find Google maps running in Apps/Running allot of the time.

Patriot, I just joined the ranks of the rooted and ROMmed :D

I flashed AOKP and went through the sign-up process in the Chrome-to-Phone app. As soon as it finished, I sent myself something and it showed right up.

There HAS to be a reason why your Nexus isn't receiving the links...
