Yeah that one looks nice. Haven't done this in a while, going off memory here bare with me: So dnld it to your phone. Use root explorer and navigate to it. Long press on it and rename it to "bootanimation.zip" without the quotes. Long press on it and click move (or copy maybe??). Now navigate to /system/media and paste it in there. Reboot

Early night off the 'puter. Hoping you found it by now, the one I'm talking about is the blue android. High def and very slick. I can't stand the one with the spinning cubes no matter how resolute the images are. And the pink unicorns are so yesterday already. He should make it a first boot and then a self destruct imo. If you haven't found the ani by the time I get through this thread I'll link it.

Jbdan linked me last night. Thanks. I like Roosevelt's but I like the one in black exodus more. :D
 
You talk a lot about Black ex. I'll have to take a look at what all the fuss is about. ;-) I was mainly talking about getting rid of the pink unicorn. Anything is better than that after a couple of boots.

I only had the pink unicorn once. After that I got the blue swirly one from the thread on xda. Then realized there was one in the theme. I like black ex because I can't stand so much white in apps. Black saves battery and is a favorite color of mine so its a bonus.
 
I was gonna ask that. I guess it's just all black from what I can tell. I like black too with some ics blue mixed in, but I do like some color in some apps. Do you use minimalistic text too?

I remember reading his thread a few weeks ago about his ban.

The core apps are black. And yes, I do. :)

I was pretty impressed with the way he decided to give the info about his ban. Most people would have slunk off into a corner and we wouldn't have heard from them again. He not only made it as right as he could, he admitted wrongdoing and learned how to do what he wanted.
 
Yes, it was an impressive exposing of himself, very mature. I just found minimalistic and I love it. It took me a while to figure it out but I think I got it now.
 
I just use blk wall paper and am using various developer or themers inverted apk's, Gmail, MMS & People.

The inverted MMS I like is from tgwaste . Scroll down a tad. His personal site where he keeps his stash.

He has two versions, showing on this post anyway. Both have the sender text in ICS blue and the recipient reply in white. And there are two choices to download.

One that is stacked with the people pics on the left and the other criss crossed. My brain likes the XX and the sender/recipient different color fonts help differentiate.

I use the black Exodus dialer. And have tried so many inverted people/contacts I forget whose I'm running now.

Right now the contacts apk is the dirty child as none of the themers have been able to, or are lazy to, clean up or invert the editing pop-ups in that apk. They have white fonts on white and the cursor is hidden and such. All you have to do is start working with a contact entry either in MMS or people and its there.

I have been begging them for this on every one of the themers posts. I managed to get them to Darken the pic's empty place holders.

If anyone knows of a themer who can fix the inverted contacts issue please egg him on!!
 
Found a small issue with black exodus newest build - the g+ messenger is now themed - but the type is still black which doesn't work on a black background. :(

Restoring to nandroid from this morning until that's fixed.

Now I tell ya, I removed all animations I could find, including System/media data/local and I get a small "android" with a scrolling light under it. Then I tried everything. Gots to be doin sompthin wrong?

I want that rolling X .

So you tried what I posted last night to do in root explorer? And you renamed the file to bootanimation.zip ?
 
OK, it appears boot animation.zip goes in data/local folder NOT system/media like the TBolt...interestingly what was throwing me off is i had bootanimation.zips in there...they just weren't doing anything except for confusing me...just experimented with that and moved a bunch of stuff around. I deleted all bootanimation.zips in system/media and renamed the ones in data/local and got the little android 'backup' stock animation.

Then went in and renamed only one at a time in the data/local folder back to 'bootanimation.zip' and it switches to whichever one I want. It appears system/media file doesn't affect the animation at all. Hmmm, wonder why there were files in there?? Could I have stuck them in there myself? :rolleyes: knucklehead!

I feel like such a Dumb A :eek::o:o:o

I totally forgot to put the word "boot" in front of the animation!!!!

I have done this before but my brain ditched it.

Also, I already had a flashed one from a site in there in data\local.

As a test I put the rolling X in system\media and it did not work. The flashed one was still working.
I took the one out of local\data leaving the rolling X in system\media and got the built in "android" in the center.
I then left both locations empty and got the same.

I then moved the rolling X to data\local and it works now.

Sheesh! :rolleyes:
 
Forgive my slowness but the mods I want have B17 & B19 under them. I run B20. He says (Pick B17,B19, B20 as appropriate)

Does that mean the B17 & B19 will work on B20?

How did you get only the black dialer? I would like and use black exodus if the white text was ICS blue! I love that blue and don't wanna get rid of it. Don't like the white on black

humm its a gamble just make an nandroid backup and flash the the mods and if you get bootlooped then you will know it wont work and if it starts up then you are good to go :)

In my lurking for inverted apks I was over at the Exodus page @ XDS forums and someone wished for it and another posted it for him and I nabbed it. I think it cam with his contacts. No blue.

Here you go.
