[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

No conflict...easy flash just like rom and try them all and sww what works for you

You and jbdan seem like the experts.

You mentioned above to "try them all", but the one most mentioned is the lean kernel.

Which other ones do you guys recommend, and what are the biggest differences?

I am honestly no expert in the least bit. I feel like I have some good experience under my belt though.

Idk about trying them all lol blkbelt is a lil' excessive at times (I kid...)

I like faux's and franco's kernels as well. 2 that are worthy of trying imo. I'd stick with lean, run it for 2-3 days and see how you like it. You could even test drive blkbelts kernel, just be careful your GN might never turn back on :p

Is anyone else seeing increased battery drain while sleeping in build 25?

I was doing fine on build 24 and previous builds, but since flashing build 25 last night, I'm losing about 5% or more per hour over night and during classes.

I did a dirty wipe, following jbdan's procedure above, and am running lean kernel 1.10.0 exp 1, same as what I was using with build 24.

I'm out of energy tonight, headed to bed. I guess I'll try a full wipe tomorrow, unless anyone else has something easier to suggest?

I'm on build 25 now. Running smooth. Haven't flashed smooth kernel. I want to give myself a day or two to try the kernel that came with the ROM.

Has anyone found a way to remove the search bar from every screen? I don't use the Nova Launcher that came with the ROM (not a fan) but I would like to remove the Google search bar so that my calendar can be bigger. The ideal situation would be to remove it on every screen but the home screen.

You should be able to go to:

Settings,
Manage apps,
Scroll down to Google search,
Disable.

It will disable on all screens, but if I remember it does not add more space to the home screen.

When I flashed AXI0M I also flashed something that actually removed it and made more space on the screen. I can't find that to flash now. Also, I'm not sure if it's even compatible with this ROM even if I found it.

It didn't actually disable search, it just removed the box from the screens.

Have you looked at this thread? I haven't read it in a while so I'm not sure it is compatible with what you are running atm, but worth checking out.

That is a lot of drain especially at night, maybe give it time (24hrs) to settle in?

So everything is setup the exact same way as you had it on 24 and you have the exact same apps?

Have you been to settings> apps> running to see what is running that might look unfamiliar to past setups you've run?

Have you checked your battery stats to see if anything in there looks fubar?

Google Talk? Using it? Sign out?

Is maps running but you're not using maps? Something location based running and using battery?

A few things to check

Do you have BetterBatteryStats installed? If so, post your partial wakelocks log and I'll see if anything looks out of sorts.

Having reception problems all of the sudden on M3. I've been getting a harsh screeching sound during some calls. Sometimes its so bad I can't talk. I have 2-4 bars all the time. I have done nothing with the radios and Don't plan to.

GPS still defaults to meters and kilometers in the big city :-(. Must be a google maps Thing :-(

I have some kind of Maps thing running all the time and cannot stop it. I long press and hit stop and it fires back up.
I am not sure if its normal or not, your post sent ,me looking.

Yes, everything is the same. In Running Apps, I see "BIP" and I don't know what it is, but when the phone's running well I don't really look in there, so I don't know if it's usually there or not. I'm signed out of Talk, and I don't see Maps running.

You may have been right on your first statement, as it seems at least a little better today (though hard to judge, because my classes were shorter and I took it off the charger on my way out the door this morning).

I do have it, but as I mentioned to jbdan above, it has been behaving better since I took it off the charger this morning. There's nothing under partial wakelocks for more than 3 min (Google + sync), but under Kernel Wakelocks, yesterday my "PowerManagerService" was like 5 hours and something. Today it's 15 minutes.

GL! and post what your end result is :)
Well after re-flashing for a few different configurations, Black Exodus seemed to be the culprit. That theme alone with AOKP caused gmail to disappear.

So now I'm officially on AOKP build 25, themed with MNML status bar and soft key mod and running leanKernel 2.1.0 @ 1.35GHz smooooothly.

Nova Launcher within AOKP has just prompted me to update.

Has anyone done the update? Any issues you think?

I am using it on the stock 4.0.4 rooted ROM and it is awesome. I love the features included once unlocking Prime features! Some great transitions, too!

With the inverted gapps, do I need to flash each one individually? Looks like there used to be a link to one file to flash everything at once, but it's not a link anymore.

Has anyone found a (free) workaround to get rid of the "this app is not compatible" in the market problem when using an LCD density other than 320 with AOKP?

I may just buy LCD Density Modder Pro, but I dunno about $3 for such a simple thing. I'm wondering if anyone has found a low-level /sys setting or something that you can use to work around it?

Thanks for the update...looks sweet!

Like you I go HERE but just get the ones I need. I think he stopped the full meal deal. Not sure.

I found with the 4.0.3 inverted Gmail no longer available the 4.0.4 Gmail will work on AOKP B25.

I do not know of any work-around other than to change the density on the fly when you go to market to get an app. Let us know what you find

Well I cleared the cache in battery xl but the toggle to turn data on and off in the pulldown menu still doesn't work

What is battery xl? At this point you might need to start over or did you do that already and I missed it?
