[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Hmm I wonder if this explains why 25% with b29 seems as bright (or perhaps a little brighter) than b28 @ 38%.

If AOKP is changing the default brightness offset by 20% it would explain me seeing the brightness difference between b28 and b29. hmm

I guess I should see if 18% is the same as my old 38% but I'm too lazy to do a nandroid, then restore b28 and check lol

I just figured it out. You have to set the screen dim level to the amount you want your lowest value to be.

hmm ok...still doesn't explain why 25% on b29 is as bright or brighter than 38/40% were on b28.

Do what jubakuba suggested on rootzwiki in reply to your post.

The reason that it seems brighter is because it is :)

These multipliers set so high by default (when installing a kernel that supports color control whether implemented by ezekeel or CM) are gonna make a lot of people pissed off in the long run when they start seeing screen burn-in/retention. Reset color multi's and gamma to default and your golden ;)

To calibrate colors to your liking use very small increments from default levels to adjust.

Ok, but does this survive a reboot? If not, I'll create an init.d script I guess. :)

How do we reset these things? LeanKernel 3.0.

Settings -> ROM Control -> Performance (not a real ideal place for it IMHO) -> Color Multipliers Tuning

Tap the "Reset to Defaults" button. The brightness level for all the colors should be 0.466666670 after that.

Ugh the updated uninverted Gmail is killing me

A big fan of inverted apps the inverted Gmail has been bugging me because of the dark colored content font being hard to see at times.
According to the message how much I like it.

I did just installed a nice naturally inverted weather app called Palmary Weather. The paid version rocks.

And that my friend is why I'm usually behind a build because some things I can not live with - email whiteness being one.

I hear you BB. You know why I must have inverted anything I can get, but I get lots of Gmail from law firms and it seems most of them want to use colored fonts I guess to set themselves apart or express their individualism............... but.... the Gmail will invert black text to white, and if the spiffy legal secretary or attorney wants navy colored font, its not pretty.

Send yourself a message in navy font to feel my pain.

If B30 doesn't drop soon I'm going to have to check into some kind of rehab.

I figured out B28 is running so well for me I just can't stand it. Its like a deafening silence. Nothing to tweak, try, adjust, or explore.

This is hilarious would be a good sig line quote lol!!

En serio most all of us know exactly how you feel. :)

B29 in all it glorious whiteness :p is incredible and most worthy of a flash. I'm blown away by .4's battery life on stock kernel and its divinely buttery performance.

This may be nothing, But I just updated to B29 and lean kernel 3.0 and I've noticed 2 bugs

1- ANdroid file transfer will not work for anything over 16kb

2- For some reason, when surfing to DL the Gapps, a porn site opened.

THis could be a complete fluke but WTF is going on?

I downloaded everything from official rootwiki sites linked directly from our forum

I, too, am getting jittery about b30 finally dropping. I've been holding off on 29 for so long. You think it'd be ok to wipe and flash 29 then dirty flash 30 when it's out? I'm not that big of a fan of the dirty flash, but I don't know how much longer I can go without getting in on the .4 performance...

I flashed 29 with the understanding that I would do another full wipe. I just told myself, "You will have to wipe twice."

Yeah a dirty flash would be risky, especially when the dev himself says. But hey, just make a nandroid then dirty flash. If you run into issues you can restore or do the full gamut wipe!

Running B28 with Franco M2.

I'd like to try inverted gapps, but have two questions.

First, can I flash the inverted ones over the stock ones I have now? (I assume a cache and dalvik wipe would be in order). Or would a full wipe be called for?

Second, the link suggests "It is very easy to use 7zip and create your own all in one tailored just for you!" Would this just be a matter of dl'ing the individual apps, zipping them into one file, and then flashing that file, or is it more complicated.

Thanks!

On the inverted emails with hard to read text I find hitting reply will allow me to read it easier.
