[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Where in the zip file are the wallpapers stored? I flashed the Lucid theme and I guess it flashed the stock wallpaper app over the custom one. I searched for it yesterday but didn't have any luck. I was assuming it was an app.

I was mainly wanting that wallpaper back.

I'm sorry I have no clue where that wallpaper is tucked in. I just roamed around in the ROM with 7zip and cannot find it. If anyone knows the location I'd be glad to send it to ya. Maybe someone will see this and help us out.

I gave it another shot. They are in Launcher2.apk. I probably still have it as an option but I'm using Nova. Didn't think about that! Attached it here if anyone else needs it.

Anyone else noticing a higher than normal Android OS battery usage with this version? Thought it just hadn't "settled" yet, but still doing it. Not affecting battery life much, just appears abnormal.

No it has been very low as on all .4 roms I've tried.

Mine is up around 20% Flashed LeanKernel to see if that fixes it. Battery drain still isn't terrible, just that percentage seemed high.

Yes! I had that with the stock b31 kernel! I also had a slew of "kworker" threads showing up in bettery battery stats.

I flashed LK 3.1.0 yesterday and Android OS is back down where it was with previous 4.0.4 builds and the idle drain is improved over the stock b31 kernel for me (10% in 8 hours vs. 5% in 8 hours with LK 3.1.0).

could someone please tell me how to utilize the tether capibilities of the rom on both the computer and phone end? because i cant get it going/connect for the life of me and idk what im doing wrong so could someone just explain it...?

or are there any tether app available ?

I've been having difficulty restoring a certain game and the data to go with it on M4 and B31...

Any ideas? The game works fine if I don't load the data to go with it... but it took me forever to get everything I have and I don't wanna start from scratch. All of the data in my other games work fine. For some reason it doesn't want to work in any build newer than M3

Would you be referring to Temple Run? I had to wipe data to get it running. Sucks starting over. :(

Ok all I've got a question. ROM Toolbox Pro was just updated to include backing up "Miscellaneous" data. This includes call logs, text messages, accounts, etc. However it doesn't seem to be backing up the actual apps. So to people who have the app and can see all and exactly what's going on, would it be safe to use this after a wipe in between ROMs? Or would it have the same effect as backing up system apps and bork?

You shouldn't need a 3rd party tethering app for AOKP. Here's how to enable it:

1. Open up settings
2. Tap "More..." underneath the Data usage option
3. Tap "Tethering & portable hotspot"
4. Tap "Configure Wi-Fi hotspot"
5. Give the SSID a name and enter that in the "Network SSID" field
6. Select your preferred security (WPA2PSK recommended if all your clients support it)
7. Enter a password for the wifi (which you will enter from your laptop or other wifi-enabled devices)
8. Tap the "Save" button

Now you can enable it right now by checking the "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" check box. You can also use the notification quick toggles to turn it on/off quickly if you so choose. Otherwise, just go through the settings hierarchy to get back there to enable/disable it in the future.

Hope that helps!

Is anyone else's kernel not sticking after boot? Mine keeps reverting from on demand to interactive

Rebooting now, I'll let you know if it sticks or not for me.

*edit* Confirmed that my governor is still interactivex after a reboot.

I'm using ROM Control's option to set it at boot time, not a 3rd party app. Do you happen to have SetCPU or some other similar app installed? Perhaps it's setting it after AOKP sets it?

Hmm...could it be a 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz vs. auto thing? Is your computer set to only one frequency perhaps?

Any other devices with wifi you can test to see if the WAP shows up?

yea its just my computer i guess, because i did indeed get it to connect but it was kinda slow or at least not as fast as i was anticipating but maybe that was due to having three things download at the same damn time. oh and it did disconnect then autoreconnect as it seems, idk what that was about either. hopefully itll get better in the future as roms/hacking evolve, i hope

I had a problem with 2 games after a wipe to go from B28 to B31...but I have been using the same game and data since December- probably 20 full wipes and ROMs ago. I found that I could use titanium back up to restore an app AND the data from out of one of my nandroids.
In tibu pro, you can select to restore an app and the data selected out of one of the nandroids you would run using ROM manager....I know that sounds confusing, but you might give that a try.
If you saved a nandriod/backup of your just previous rom, uninstall the app from your phones settings-apps. Then go into tibu pro click on the backup/restore tab at the top, then click your menu button...3 dots at the bottom...and select to extract from nandroid...and follow the instructions.
Good luck...if that works let us know!!! It worked for me....and I DID NOT want to lose my game data!!

I am actually referring to HomeRun baseball 3D

Man, I did not know you could do this...this is brilliant!!!

Prior to flashing to B31, I flashed my M3 nandroid, tested the game to make sure all my data was there, and then re-backed it up with tibu.

...however... I must painfully admit that just like my idea...your suggestion did NOT work. Ugh. Any other suggestions? This is the only game where I cannot figure out how to get my data to work on a build above M3. I've had this data since before I rooted :(

I've tried it with ROM Control and with Set CPU and no luck with either
