[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Problems here on B31. Dirty flashed and had a couple of issues so I then did a factory reset/wipe and have the same problems.

1.) Google Account Manager crashes
2.) Google Play Music will not make files available offline. Tells me to check my internet connection.

Problem solved. Didn't realize that every time I wiped and flashed and set up Google Music on my fresh install that it added an authorized device to my account. Had 10 devices due to that which was the max. Had to deauthorize older accounts and sign back in to Music and it started downloading the songs I wanted.

I never would have realized this without reading your post. I wonder how many other apps this is true for? Thank you.

Settings Menu>>Date & Time should help you out there! I like 24 hour style, too for some reason..

Doh! Do I feel like a noob.:o I forgot to check that after my pre B30 wipe. I incorrectly assumed the 24 hour option was still selected. Thanks!

That's what I hate most about wipes. Reinstalling apps are a piece of cake. It's all those little tweaks and personal settings I have to go through and redo that can be a pita.

Agreed. I have a gDocs checklist I keep of stuff I need to update or settings to change. Light Flow has helped out tremendously with being able to backup notifications. I think the only thing I forget to fix are things like custom ringtones for contacts.

Anyone know if Tasker could be used to set custom contact ringtones?

I've also have a pre/post wipe list started. I just have to add another item.

Custom contact ringtones - another pita post wipe.

I have b29 and I think I'll wait for the next milestone. I just set everything up and don't feel like redoing it all if M5 drops soon.

I was on M3 waiting for M4 and it (M4) sucked. So most likely M5 will not repeat that.

B28 & Lean 2.8.0 was stellar. I'll not delete that nandroid for sure.

Did B30 and dirty flashed B31 with Lean 3.1.0 and she is a keeper. I am not having any of the issues reported so far. Love the navbar customs.

Currently no way until Nova updates. There's a sort of way to do it with Apex that Zaph posted but that will only work on the homescreen not from within any app

On B31 with lean kernal....the only thing I am noticing is a small, random touch lag every once in a while....hard to describe, and completely random. Sometimes when I am typing on the landscape keyboard, and I have noticed it on a couple of games. Even my son playing angry birds on Sunday asked if something was wrong, because his touches weren't always being seen inside the game.
I am running lean, just updated to 3.1, but the last 2 days I have been on lean 3.0. I have been not changed any of the stock voltages, but increased to interactivex at 1650-350. My phone seems to like those settings....but I was NOT getting this lag back on B28...but I seem to remember maybe back on B24 or so I was seeing the same kind of lag.....
Don't take this as a rant on AOKP...I love this ROM and my phone runs it like butta'!!!!

I have run several checks using terminal...and do not seem to be getting throttled, no indication there are read errors....not sure what else to check???

Just curious if others are seeing it?

Can't tell you as I running M2. What I can say is M2 @ 384-1036MHz there is zero lag anywhere to be found. Sorry I know that doesn't help much :)

I have never really played with the cpu settings before so what is a good setting for the Scaling Governor? Right now it is on the default "interactive"

Thanks!

Typically interactive governors will be your best bet. Although the ondemand gov has been given a lot of attention by some kernel devs and has been tweaked out the wazoo (I use ondemand on M2). When running faux's kernel I also use ondemand as he has worked on it extensively. Lean kernel and the stock kernel "pre-faux" favor interactive (interactiveX for lean usually) governor imo. Some like hotplug better on Lean. Just depends on what you want. You'll have to play around with it all to see what your phone likes and what you like best.

Gotta +1 on this...personally I found that what my phone prefers gets to stay...but I like the interactivex best in AOKP....but just like above....that's my personal preference.

b30 with stock kernel seemed to get better battery life for my phone than b31 with stock kernel. I never checked the b30 idle drain, but last night b31 with the stock kernel lost 10% in 8 hours which isn't that great compared to what I remember having with b30.

Guess I'll give LK 3.1.0 a shot.

I've had absolutely outstanding battery life on B30 and 31 with stock (Faux's) kernel on on demand gov and under clocked to 1060

I do too. It's an excellent combo on MY phone. Running M2 now for comparo. Battery life seems equivalent, but M2 seems snappier...could just be my mind...

I never ran 30, but rather 29.

When you're checking the idle drain are you on 3/4G, wifi or airplane mode?

Love this stuff yeah :)

Where in the zip file are the wallpapers stored? I flashed the Lucid theme and I guess it flashed the stock wallpaper app over the custom one. I searched for it yesterday but didn't have any luck. I was assuming it was an app.

I was mainly wanting that wallpaper back.

wifi (LTE still enabled). I know it can vary, but normally the variance is very small (less than 1% difference night to night). In this case it was about 2-2.5x worse than I have seen in the past.
