[Verizon] [ROM] Codename Android for JB (updated 10/2)

This is ridiculous.

It's 10 AM my time. Got up at roughly 7:45 with a full charge. Streamed a little Google Music via BT for about an hour of that.

I'm at 53%!

No GPS, no phone calls, I'm on wi-fi, no movies or videos, little screen time. CPU Spy says I have spent 90% of that time in either deep sleep or the 384 MHz slot. Top freq 1228 Mhz: 6%. That's IT.

CNA running franco r231 for about 24 hours now.

I am open to suggestions, here. While I admit that I'm good about going through battery, I'm not THIS good.

So, in same timeframe, on Franco r232, I downloaded a full magazine via 3G, browsed a bunch, spent 76% of time in deep sleep, and am at 45%.

I like to think that my tweet to him was the deciding factor on him coming to Phandroid. Don't say otherwise and ruin my happiness! :p

Has anyone had a problem with switching from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only? I tried it and wouldn't connect to 3G. I then switched back over to LTE/CDMA and I had to reboot to get it to connect.

@Chief. I've been using leankernel and it works great for me.

Not been a problem swapping to 3G or LTE for me.

I've had crappy battery life on every single JB ROM/ kernel until my current CNA/ Franco combination.

I'm at 8.5 hours and 1 hour screen time and only down to 65%. Big improvement over previous JB combinations.

Hi,

I am facing battery issues here with Codename Android Jelly Bean. I'd like to try the Franco Kernel. How do I flash that kernel as I currently am running the stock kernel that comes with Codename Android Jelly Bean?

Also, can you please provide that link to Franco's Kernel for Jelly Bean?

Thanks in advance.

Doctor,

I now use the franco.Updater available from the Play store to download his kernel.

I am using Franco 230 and I am at almost 13 hours with just over 1 hour screen time, 2+ hours of music, a few phone calls, and hourly polling of work email. And still have 51% battery left.

This has been my best battery life of any rom/kernel combination-including AOKP ICS, which was my favorite.

Try this link and you might want to bookmark it:

Just scroll down to the "Kernels" section and download whatever :)

EDIT: I know, it's an old post, but it's the best aggregate I've found and it links to updated stuff. If you know of a better all-in-one page, let me know...

Best news I've heard all day! Did he say WHERE he's uploading it? From where can we download?

From what I gathered, he posts links to the builds through his g+. Which might mean he won't publish until they're all uploaded. Not sure where he's hosting them though.

Hi,

(1) How does that app work? Does it like automatically update the kernel while your phone is running if a new update is available? If so, that would be very convenient.

(2) Is there any links in which I can simply load via recovery mode of the latest Franco Kernel for Jelly Bean?

Thanks in advance.

Since I've installed CNA, twice this week at work I felt my phone get hot, I keep it in my pocket. The first time I checked battery but I didn't notice anything. I only looked at it real quick though. Tonight I looked and Wallet was on for over an hour and my battery went from mid 60% down to about 20%. I never opened Wallet today.

Getting too late to wait for his release tonight, plus my battery is low. Guess that's what 5 hours of screen time will do.

Nav button colors... It's ROM nirvana :D

EDIT: Does anyone else here have an MD5sum for this stuff?

Here's what I come up with:

ROM: 3f545b8568f015b6042d43202da1d94a
GAPPS: d1b54045b026ec777c140c1bb8400e08

If you have the same thing, we're good. If you have something different, then ONE of us has a problem

EDIT EDIT: MD5 verified, ROM flashed. It's AWESOME!
