[Verizon] [ROM] Codename Android for JB (updated 10/2)

So, I now know why everyone recommends sticking with a ROM and kernel for at least 24 hours. In fact, I would bump that to 72 hours. There are some apps like Lookout or others that I don't use often will tend to do a lot of background work after flashing a new ROM, which tends to kill battery and reduce performance.

I noticed this the first night on 3.2 when the phone used 10+% battery over ~7 hours of sleep. Last night was 2% over 9 hours, which is what it should be.

Also, with the Franco kernel, I just pulled 2.25 hours screen time and 25 minutes of talk time with 9% battery remaining on the 2100 mah battery. Very happy.

Hi,

Are you recommending to not install Lookout Security App. right away after a clean flash? I did so.

I had no luck either so I eventually uninstalled/reinstalled the app used the restore within the app to get my settings back and it started working. You have to make sure not to swipe Lightflow away when you hit the recents button as that will kill the app. As per their FAQ they are working on that.

Hi,

So it is an issue with Jelly Bean. Light Flow I guess will update it soon, unless, CNA adds more options to the notification light in settings just like Light Flow, in their next update. That would save battery as Light Flow drains battery because it is being processed 24/7.

Just curious but what version of Lightflow do you have? The last update fixed it for me on JellyBean

Also not a big deal, but try multi quoting from now on to avoid double and triple posting. Just a kind reminder :-)

I have to chime in with always installing and running Lookout. With my luck, the one time I don't use it is the one time that I need it... and I guess I'd rather have my phone back than a little longer battery time. :)

from my understanding lookout is pointless. There's been maybe 2 known virus for android, and they weren't a real threat. For me, a better option would be Droidwall. Keeps apps that don't need network connection from connecting.

Hi,

I am running volume+ version 1.9.0.5 and have the speaker settings and headset settings at +9 volume and +1 bass. I also have the settings, sound, music effects set to Volume+. What version of Volume+ are you running?

1.8.1.0

Most of my volume levels in Volume+ are anywhere from +6 to +10 and I only have to turn my ringer or headset volume halfway up.

I don't even use Lookout for the anti-virus, Jova. I use it for tracking a lost/stolen device and for remotely locking it down so it can't be used. I have a lot of sensitive info (including Wallet) on my phone... so locking that thing down as soon as possible is a must. Haven't lost or had it stolen yet - but like any good insurance, it's nice to have there but you hope you never have to use it.

The backup feature is nice, but I could live without that too.

Hi,

That's awesome that your volume levels are working. I used to have excellent volume when I was on AOKP B40 ICS.

Hi,

Some widgets are not displaying when I scroll to widgets. I need to select and apply them for them to load.

In addition, I don't think phone feels buttery anymore. I feel a minor lag. It was really smooth when I did a clean flash. Has anyone else been facing these issues?

That's how I felt when I was on Codename, that's why I flashed away from it. It has a lot of features but I didn't feel it was as polished as some other ROMs. You could always try flashing a kernel and OCing a little bit if you're feeling daring =)

Hi,

I just did a dirty flash. Cleaned the cache/dalvik cache and formatted system reflashed CNA/GApps. Its the same. A minor lag exists. Actually, now WiFi shows excellent strength but YouTube runs slow. Web browsing is slow too. Out of nowhere Jelly Bean loses its butter.

Maybe it is Lookout Virus application running 24/7?
