So, I now know why everyone recommends sticking with a ROM and kernel for at least 24 hours. In fact, I would bump that to 72 hours. There are some apps like Lookout or others that I don't use often will tend to do a lot of background work after flashing a new ROM, which tends to kill battery and reduce performance.
I noticed this the first night on 3.2 when the phone used 10+% battery over ~7 hours of sleep. Last night was 2% over 9 hours, which is what it should be.
Also, with the Franco kernel, I just pulled 2.25 hours screen time and 25 minutes of talk time with 9% battery remaining on the 2100 mah battery. Very happy.
