[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

Thank you for your hard work, Eagle and crew... the Deskclock now changes to any color we desire! Another Sourcery exclusive! :D

yeah i forgot something while redoing things with deskclok. but not a sourcery exclusive on this one aokp did this first. we just used their code.

5.1.3 is great, but what happened to the notification widget? Loved that thing!

i will be putting the notification widget in the extra apps before release.
several complaints regarding it.
and it defaults to lighting the phone everytime a notification comes in and got many many posts regarding it and i myself couldnt figure out what was causing it it was either devortex or a user that pointed it out.

with dashclock I felt this was no longer needed in the rom itself as dashclock does everything it did. and of course we sourcerized dash clock so what you get on sourcery is like no other dash clock around.

the original developer did an awesome job. and we did send a email to him offering our modification to him so everyone could have color changing ability but we have not recieved a response as of yet.

Thank you for your hard work, Eagle and crew... :D
I know this is only part of what you wrote, but it summed up my feelings on this whole Sourcery-bashing thing. The devs work really hard providing us with a quality product, and never once have I heard therm ask for anything but a little respect for their efforts. Hats off to you and your ROM! Thanks to your work, I now have a phone that I love and am proud to hold up against any other!

I look forward to all ther improvements you'll make in the future, and know you'll get Key Lime Pie to us faster than anyone, with a host of extra goodies I can't get anywhere else.

BTW, no fanboi here. I am a non-paid spokesperson. Just an average schmo who loves this ROM!

hey if your non payed why did i just get a bill?

:)

gleedy: ALWAYS make a nandroid backup in recovery before flashing. Back up your stuff and you can try a dirty flash... knowing that if you have issues, you will want to wipe and clean flash it. The devs never recommend a dirty flash :)

Me too! I did it and I'm rocking 5.1.5 quite nicely thank you :)

Haven't found any new stuff yet but it seems very snappy. Another great update to a great ROM!

I agree. This ROM is very feature rich. Glad to see some improving under the hood!! 5.1.5 is great! (U guys should spend more time in Irc. This is my second version of 515!!)

Is IRC the only place to get experimental builds? I checked the website and the built-in ROM tools, but nothing.

I'm still having major toggle/connectivity issues. Things are just wonky. Going to wipe with CWM and try the latest and greatest.

Thanks! I'm downloading v5.1.5 right now to see how it goes.

Site note, and not really related to this ROM, but anyone have issues backing up ROMs via TWRP? I've tried a couple times with no luck. Says it can't write to the backup folder.

UPDATE: I think CWM doesn't work well with TWRP. I told CWM to use TWRP and tried to create a backup, failed. So I went into TWRP and tried, failed. I then went into Goomanager and reinstalled TWRP and it's backing up now. SO, just FYI.

Did you set permissions when u copied it over?

Thanks for trying to help me. I downloaded the file from sourcery tools, using ES explorer I copied it to system/app area changed permissions to read user, group, other and write user only. When I select the app after that it says installing in the notification area then the notification disappears. All the while the file is named tmp.apk. Where did it go?:hmmmm:

I am still fairly new at all this. Thanks again.

I know others have reported issues with TWRP but I have not experienced any issues backing up or with it wiping.

I have YET to have an issue with TWRP. If I am doing a clean flash, I always use Superwipe, which formats the four main partitions. I don't rely on the recovery to do it. Highly recommended.

+1
Same here. As long as I check to see if I have latest TWRP is has performed admirably on both my Gnex and my N7! Great UI, too.
Incidentally, I find TiBu indispensable for restoring data to some of my apps after I let PlayStore download the apps after a factory reset. I restored settings to my mail clients and bookmarks to Dolphin Browser among others. I am definitely liking TiBu for this but take Eagle's advice to let the Playstore restore the apps first.
