[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

and i have a quick reply option in my drop down notification window so idk if thats supposed to be there but it works for me, also, can we get a fully transparent dropdown? not just for the status bar but for the whole dropdown window?

Already have the transparent pull down.....select any custom pull down wallpaper, then go back in to the pull down settings and click on the settings button

Just added Franco's latest nightly build 283 onto JB 2.3 I'll wait and see but folks on xda are reporting 20% increase in battery life over earlier versions.
Yesterday phone went totally dead. Should have had plenty of charge. Had to do battery pull. Came back showing 56% charge so don't know why it died.
Hmm-- outside of battery cover is discolored and shows several spots that look like burn spots. I have noticed the phone getting a little hot at times but this looks serious. Also will have to find out why data is coming back on even when I have shut it off. Don't want extra roaming charges when I visit Canada next month. I plan to turn off syncing on mail and calendar apps. Any others I should check as well? I thought if I turned off data these could not sync anyway. Something is sure turning it back on. I'll check kernel and Juice defender settings as well. Probably just turn off Juice defender while I'm there and manually sync over WiFi that week.

And I did find my own FB contact sync fix, so again, please forgive me.

what was the fix. tell us so we can tell others.

Gladly. I found it over at xda and it involves a change in ContactsProvider.apk. Apparently user craigacgomez made it, and there is a flashable file to backup and then replace the .apk, but there's some things that need to be done first.

- Reboot into recovery and flash the mod zip
- Reboot and enable "Sync Contacts" for all the account
- Add your Facebook account, select the contacts sync option and wait 2-5 mins
- If your Facebook contacts do not show up, go to Settings > Accounts & sync
- Select the Facebook account, and uncheck and re-check "Sync Contacts" and wait 2-5 mins (pictures may take a while to appear)
And the flashable file is called "Verizon_JRO03O-FacebookSync.zip" and I have placed a copy in my collection linked in my sig.

Also, and I am speculating, that if you are doing a clean flash of this (or another JB) rom, you could flash in recovery; rom, gapps, and fix file, without having to do the steps above or maybe even be so adventurous as to just put the modified ContactsProvider.apk in the rom before flashing.

good luck

p.s. again I'm sorry if I got on your guys bad side, I'm not really that bad. Eagle, just ask listenman20 (ricky).

Since you mentioned it, I have to say, I really like(d) the quick message feature in Cyanogenmod, which allows the user to reply to SMS/MMS,without having to launch the messaging application. There are apps which produce the same pop-up functionality, but it's nice and incredibly functional, to be able to take advantage of the JB expanded notifications.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869521

Unfortunately, any attempt to install it as a system app on JBS, leads to a crash. :(

is there a way to get an sms pop-up without having to download a third party app like handscent or something? simliar to what an iphone has when they receive a message.

The stock messenger app has the quick reply in the pulldown notification bar.

would love a way to backup the settings so when we do clean flashes, our setup time will be faster

This would be sweet. Is it possible?

Had a quick question for you guys. My first attempt at a custom rom (have a Cappy w/ GB). Rooted and soft bricked, got it back finally with the help of a jig. Anyways - flashed Corn kernel to get CMD. Then I d/l and added JB Sourcery and gapps. Wiped/factory reset (didn't see an option for the delvic cache) and loaded the two zip files . It all seemed to work. Rebooted...but I was back at stock GB! What gives???

In recovery. After I had problems the first time w/ ROM manager I didn't load it back up as I read it didn't play well w/ cappy. After recovery did all it's magic, was there a different option I should have done? (like add root or something instead of me just selecting reboot system). That was the only place where I assume I buggered it up. I'll do a little more digging on my end in the meantime. Do you have a link that maps which files to flash in Odin or can I just tar the zip and use PDA to flash?
THANKS BTW

Hey there, dear Devs, could you check something for me? I don't know if it's a ROM issue or a Jelly Bean issue...

Using the phone, I hit Google Now and the microphone comes right up, prompting me to say something.

BUT: Using a bluetooth headset, I hit the Google Now button and have to wait almost a minute while it's "initializing". Eventually it'll get to "speak now" but it's a whole lot faster just to type it all in. And that happens not the first time... but EVERY time.

Can someone on the team verify that this is an Android issue? And is there a workaround until Google fixes it?

Thanks!

Had a user test this out before he said it happens only on bluetooth and not just our rom.

i do not know a work around.

maybe the 4.1.2 will fix it the next releae wont be 4.1.2 but the follow up will

i have looked extensively at blue tooth and in last buile that you had same problems i actually pulled every bluetooth file form cm and put it in that rom
and you said it did the same thing so i just dont know what more i can do on bluetooth.

We will continue to look at it. but i was also pointed out that the devices get updated also so maybe there is a newer firmware for the device??

I just dont know on this one other than another user mentioned this and went to 2 other roms for me and had same delay.

it may be all the arcvp 1.3 stuff?? dont know.

if it works without delay on stock rom from verizon that would be my best guess.

do you know if it works instant on stock or any other rom?

Thanks.

Don't let my small stuff get in the way of your big stuff, Eagle. You guys are doing phenomenal work and I can live with a little BT nuisance for the quality of ROM you put out :)

nothings small if we can fix it :) but i have tried everything i can on these blue tooth things and just cant seem to make it do what you say it should. :)
as i said i just cant test it so i dont know what it would do on stock or other roms i gotta take your word for what it should do and try to go from there but everything ive tried hasn't changed anything :)

Loathe as I am to change ROMs, I will to test this - IF you want me to. But I suspect, greatly, that this is a JB issue and not ROM-related. If I were a betting fella, in fact, I'd lay money on it.

Let me know if you want me to nandroid JBSourcery, flash another ROM, test it, nandroid back and tell you the results.
