I played with multi window for a little, but disabled it. It's a total waste. I couldn't find one spot where I could place the toggle and have it NOT be in the way of something. Also, you cannot put any old app in there. Very lame.

i got the update this morning and does anybody know what PageBuddyNotice is under the running applications tab.. just wondering what app is using that before i force close it.

LOL so many complainers!! what do you guys want ? for the phone to shine your shoes!!! :)

No, I just don't want my signal to keep going back and forth from 3g to 4g. After update, radio signal is horrible. I'm going to try a factory reset since I'm only getting 1mb/500kb since update.

Kind of funny. I've transitioned to the s3 from my iPhone. And every time there was an ios update, a third would say it's cool, a third meh nothing special, and a third "how do I uninstall? My iPhone runs worse now!" I guess some things cross platforms. :)

My signal is a lot worse than before. Never had a problem at my desk at work getting a 4G signal. After the update, my phone has zero signal. I hope Verizon has a fix for this issue. Add me as one of the ones unimpressed with this update.

Just not to pee on them, as this update appears to.

Nope, definitely the data radios seem to perform weaker and the battery has taken a hit. This update IMO sucks. CPU spikes to full more now as well.

If anything, the Verizon root forum is gona be popular after this. Full of people wanting rooted, custom roms or at least different modem firmware :)

a couple more annoying things I've noticed is the 4g icon stays at the top even when I'm connected to wifi. I've never seen that before.

also, I once again get the notification that my headphones are connected when I plug them in, and can't find an option to shut it off.

Any luck with your phone after reset?

This update destroyed my 4G as well. I'm getting a ping around 500, download at 2mb and upload .5mb. Most of my data based apps timeout including the Play Store. Great job Verizon. All the testing you do before an update is released and you always seem to have these issues.

Is there anyway to stop this update from being applied? A setting to turn off maybe?

The comments above, don't indicate Verizon did much quality assurance testing does it.

This is my first phone and I'm having a hard enough time; I don't need a bad update to screw things up.

Verizon has locked up access to the blocking mode activity which you could access through the QuickShortcutMaker app. It deletes the blocking widget when it updates and then when I tried to replace it with QSM it doesn't work... Settings stops responding. I used that every night to block anything but my kids from reaching me. Not a happy camper with the update here.
You can use third party app aFirewall. It is free and has more features than Blocking Mode

I downloaded the update last night after work and it appears I made it through ok. All my text message notifications are still there. It did rearrange my apps though. I used to have four screens and now I have five screens with the middle screen only having two apps on it. That looks weird.

The one thing I would like to rid off is that stupid talkback hand symbol up in the status bar. I don't even know what talkback is and I certainly don't want to look at that hand symbol all the time.

Disable Caller Name ID. New BS app the installed with this update. (mentioned earlier in this thread)

As I posted earlier in this thread, People need to contact Verizon and tell them about the signal issues. It's obviously an issue that has come about due to this update. Also the battery does appear to have taken a hit but it's a bit to early for me to make that determination.
I spent 38 minutes on the phone with Verizon last night going over the issues I'm having with the signal. Very very friendly lady and very helpful. I encourage everyone to do the same. I did not talk to them about a battery issue. My hopes are, due the the signal issues, we are seeing a decrease in battery life based on low signal. Hopefully if or when they resolve the signal issue the battery life will fix itself.
CALL PEOPLE! The only way we will see an expedited update is if they get inundated with calls about this. : )

I had to check for an update on mine, but there it was. I have the option to receive it, Defer it - and it asks me for a date to download it, or Reject it. If I don't choose one of those, it presents that screen every time I unlock the phone.

I've chose to reject it for now - that wasn't so bad. The message was that the update is waiting and I can go get it whenever I want.

Here is the PDF on Verizon's site on the update (only one page was show earlier, there's 2):

So, just to be clear: if I'm rooted, with an unlocked boot loader, this update will break my phone?

when connected to the wifi i was worried that the 4g symbol also staying connected was somehow using both wifi and mobil data. doesn't appear to be the case b/c when i run a speed test while both symbols are present the results show my download/upload speeds related to wifi and not mobile tower.

Great, so now Verizon changed their 611 to something on screen and data based. Real helpful when my data is useless!

Yeah I noticed that when I was trying to talk to someone. While I was listening to the recording I selected technical support. Then I was sent a text with a number to call. I called the number and it took me to a site for me to try and find the problem myself. BS!

it sure is annoying that the 4g symbol is suddenly still there though. did they think that was a good feature to add or did they just not test this thing at all?

Any idea which of these two I should choose? Package Installer OR Google Verify and Install? The prompt came up when I was updating an app from the Amazon app store. I tried to attach a screenshot to this post, but I am unable to do so from the stock browser.

Also, about the 4G icon staying on: If you open that new bloatware Caller ID app and look in the settings there is a way to turn it off and uninstall it. Sorry I can't remember the exact steps.
