Help Version Update?

The phone will keep charging until the battery overheats, then a message will be displayed that charging has been postponed until the temperature has dropped.

If you continue to heat up the phone it will go into thermal shutdown and if you try to restart it a message is displayed that its too hot and it wont boot until its cool.

ok so what's the command i use with the abd shell to get the SPC to force update using ##data#?... I just spent 2 hours at a metro store trying to get my sisters unrooted full bloatware indulge updated, to no avail ofcourse. The guy didnt know what i was talking about, so he called someone and told him to enter the whole sim card number into the spc box, that didnt work. He reprogrammed the phone twice, still no update, after about 6 phonecalls and line transfers, back to square 1, now know one he's calling know's wth he's talking about. so i told him i'm leaving and he asked for my number to call when that last guy called him back. Well about 20 minutes later he calls and says "the guy didnt know what i was talking about either, and said to go to the corp. store and let them try a few things or have them replace her phone. I really dont want to do that i'd rather just use the FOTA via ##data#. Any info please?

(PS me and my sister live in the same household) my phone got the update(i'm rooted/bloatware removed) and hers did not(unrooted no apps deleted)

(also i'd rather just see if you people had any info, because it is very apparent that my self, and all of you know 10x more then these people, and i really dont want to spend 5 hours explaining this to another metro employee only to have him call and try to explain to another deskjockey who still wont know wtf is going on)

Also i would like to commend this metro employee for his time and paitence, he was very nice and, it wasn't him having the problem understanding the issue it was the people he was calling that didnt know. This post is in no way me complaining about metro employees, as i said i really didnt mind being up there shooting the shit with the guy, and trying to figure it out ( i use to work in my fathers metro store). I just dont want to spend the TIME explaining it again to another, especially if i have to drive further out of my way.

when they reprogrammed the phone, do you know if they reprogrammed it to a fake mdn/min?

I've seen this happen once before... right before the warp core breach... worst phone incident ever...
 
Those with slow 4g speeds have to swapped your micro card out ?

I know the cards have spyware but read the part I have made bold.

Could it be also messing with the 4g speed?

yes he did, he went on to tell me that reprogramming the phone to some random numbers then back to the real fixed an issue with an update automatically starting on i think the optimus he said, or it was the ascend. (though this works for that phone, it didnt for the her indulge)

Complain complain ......oh did I mention complain. Enough times to both customer service and go to a corp. store enough times and they will get it pushed to your phone. Thats how I finally got it.

Of course it didnt help a single issue of mine.

I did this ...changed the MDN and MIN and this didn't initiate any type of version check. At least for me it didn't

I ##626* entered SPC got into the programming and changed both and hit done. The phone reset and I let it sit for over an hour to see if I would get the update, but nothing happend.

I then changed back the settings to what they normally were and reset the phone and still nothing.

I am beginning to think that the person who said the update was being issued via everyone's specific phone number, is correct.

He's not saying YOU were complaining... he's saying take your phone into a Metro dealer and complain, complain, complain until they give you the update.;)
 
i got my update over a week ago so those who dont have the update list ur area code and maybe this will give you a timetable when you will get it , also those with the update list your area code so if they are by phone number we know where they are in this process my area code is 214 and have had the update for awhile now

A bunch of people with my area code already got the update but I didn't, so you're wrong.
 
I have 408 area code and no update that I've seen so far and I'm thinking it is being done by specific phone number but perhaps by the numbers that were linked to the indulge first are the ones getting it first. So if you got your indulge a month ago youre getting the update before someone who got the indulge a week ago. All speculation since we really dont know how it's being distributed.

I got my phone the day it was released and still haven't received an update... 313 area code..

Proceed to option two: ask the customer care manager to initiate the update.
 
How large is this update file thats it's taking do long for us to get it? If it's under 10 MB I would think 2-3 days would probably be enough but it's been over a week if I'm not mistaken if not surely they could slow us all down for a few days and get this update over with.

I just did this... the people didn't even know the update existed. This is hilarious.

They should have sent out a company wide email informing people at Metro of this impending update. This way if people called or came in with questions...Metro wouldn't look like they have their head in the sand.

I had to direct the " MANAGER " to a link where the details of the updater were posted " with pictures and screenshots while in progress " . It was like he didn't believe me that it existed.
 
Not yet. I believe it gets split into multiple pieces by part of the sync service before being applied by the redbend flasher
