I don't know the schedule, but the update is being rolled out region by region... if they haven't done your region yet, they won't be able to help... if your region was rolled out and said they couldn't help... well then... try someone else???
So you're saying you don't even need to bother putting the phone into 1x mode anymore to save battery life now that you've gotten the update?
Dammit...where is my update?
Earlier when I restarted my phone, I got a strange message that said an update had failed and was not available. Could this have been the update?
Mind telling me what they were before and after? Because I noticed that about 4 days ago I could turn on my screen with the home button, Yet my 4g speed stayed about the same. And with 4g on my battery still drains pretty bad. That was the update. I got the same message. I bet if you check you have the new radio firmware but the old OS
Still old on my part then, But what would make the home buttons turn on the screen? Was that part of a different update?New is

Insofar as the phone number theory, I ported a number that I have had for 10+ years. So maybe those with "stock" or non-ported Metro numbers are getting the update first?
I went to the corp store, no they can't do the update...it's something they can't push. That's what they told me.
ciper and I just got our hands on the update package. We are going to try and have some ACS folks look at it and see what's in there. And possibly see if we can figure out how to run/install it on the phone.
I have also noticed it charges a lot faster even with 4G on now. Should fully charge in about 90 minutes if left alone compared to 3+ hours before. I'm a happy camper now but I guess ill wait and see over the next few days while I wait my turn for the update. Here's going all is well with my phone now, wish me luck!!
Not to be ripping into ya betsuni78...........the update is actually a phone number per phone number update. I have verified that with corporate store who verified it with corp. headquarters. Also none of the stores can push the update either. How i found out is a associate at the corp store emailed the corp headquarters and long story short had to do some negotiations to keep me around for couple weeks longer. And in there the justs of the update came into conversation. Which they explained to the associate.
That
I mean go to the Corp store and ask for a push update to your phone or they can initiate one. There are two ways to get the update. If they don't know what you're talking about ask to talk to Customer Care Manager. The store sales may not know how to do it but the customer care manager will.
Do not wait for the update. Ask for it and speak to the customer care manager. They have ways for a force update. You can also initiate it yourself if you know how to change the phone # to a bogus one and wait for phone to restart and wait a few mins for the update. After you get the update change it back to your number. If you don't get the update then ask them to send you an update.
Yes I also noticed how fast it charges now...we me it charges in less than a hour now as oppose to before it took several hours which was very frustrating.
I don't know if it did this before but it also beeps when charging is done.
Question...if the phone is fully charged and left charging by mistake will it harm /damage the phone or battery ?
the battery "should" be smart enough to stop eating....
