If you're throttling. Would you get a text from VM????
Ab5traktion I have yet to try it. Because I've had so many random reboots on SOKP. And I'm mostly on wifi except for my 20min commute to and from school.
Has anybody tried this out? I'm taking a little break from flashing ROMs.
I was having a lot of reboots on SOKP as well. Try turning off Kernel samepage merging under Settings > performance > memory management.
It was enabled by default and I noticed the process using a significant amount of CPU time. I disabled it, rebooted and the rom has been much more stable.
The one issue I have with most recent roms, including SOKP, is high system ui battery drain. It can be anywhere between 10-15%. On Liquidsmooth it's usually 1-2%. Nameless also runs really smooth for me, but I miss the dark UI toggle because none of the themes I have tried are working with Hangouts.
Liquid is probably my top choice right now, but I can't seem to get pocket mode working for Lockscreen notifications. The quest for the perfect ROM seems to never end.
I'm on 4.4.4 I don't have a performance tab or is there an update I'm missing or something??? And it seems that pocket mode can be buggy on a lot of Roms. I just use peek.
It should be at the bottom of the main settings menu, near Developer Options. If it's not there, go to about phone and tap on Build number a bunch of times. I think it gets enabled with developer options.
Pocket mode works perfectly on Nameless and SOKP and I have really gotten used to having my phone automatically wake up every time I take it out of my pocket whether I have notifications or not. I tried using gravity screen, but it was just too sensitive and just waving my hand near the phone was enough to wake it up.
Gravity screen? What's that???
Gravity screen? What's that???
It's an app that'll wake up you're phone when you pick it up off the table or out of your pocket. And it'll put the phone to sleep when you put it down or put it in your pocket. It'll also wake up your phone if you wave over the proximity sensor.
It ends up being a massive power drain though. If it's in your pocket and detects movement, it'll wake the phone up. And it basically powers on your proximity sensor 24/7. I tried it once. The concept was awesome, but my phone never lasted more than 4 hours because of it.
Crom is the best for me no random reboots always smooth.
I've been out of the loop for a little while. Thanks for keeping this thread going Ab5traktion! I'm still on the 4.4.3 build of C-ROM, but I have an itch to flash something. It sounds like people like the AICP rom, so I'll try that. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
What I like about the C-ROM, and must have in a new ROM are the following: Working bluetooth, notification ribbon, pocket mode, no FC's, and generally fast and smooth, good battery life, and no overheating. I also like customizable progress bars and animations, but not a deal-killer.
Thanks for any suggestions!
I'm experiencing the same problem with Liquid Smooth.
So, the link to the Android 4.4.4 GAPPS keeps changing. I wouldn't be surprised if the link I just posted changes again. You don't have to use these GAPPS. I just like having them there for a resource. And they are updated periodically. I'll keep trying to make sure the link is working.
There's still no link for LiquidSmooth yet. The drdevs server is still down. Hopefully, they'll get it working again. Not just for LiquidSmooth but also for all the other ROMs that are posted on it.
