FYI, this ROM is for the Virgin Mobile Galaxy Victory (which is why it's in the Virgin Mobile section and not the Sprint section). There is no MG5 update for Sprint phones, the MG5 update is for VM phones only. Flashing the MG5 update to a Sprint phone will likely render it unusable. I also cannot provide support for running this ROM on a Sprint phone.

Thats ok ya i been playing with it since early releases. Since the mc1 with all support giving means it can expand more for people using sprint prepay. I dont know how well it works on 4g sprint but i would think the same but i could be wrong. So far with all the updates n fixes it has woeked flawlessly just a couple tweeks n twerks but that baby food stuff. I would have to say tho this is the best rom i have ever had. Thanks

just wanted to say thanks moon, great job on making this rom, been running it since 8.0 with very few problems. just wanted to put some suggestions here. found a modded beats audio installer on lg optimus elite forums that did not brick my device and adfree on xda, both i think would be a great addition to your rom.

Can't believe I forgot to re-implement this for 9.0... Will be included in the next update. Must have happened when I re-based the /system/lib folder.

Glad you enjoy Conquest.

I had Beats Audio on a modded ROM for my previous phone (HTC EVO V 4G). I never could tell the difference between Beats and non-Beats so I won't be including it here, sorry.

App and website developers often live on the revenue the advertisements in their apps/sites bring in. I will never include an AD blocker in Conquest. Feel free to install your own after the fact. (Recommended reading)

haha well im glad to hear someone cares. either way i hate ads... but keep up the good work.

Beats didn't make much difference unless audio drivers were enhanced in the kernel. I use viper4android and have noticeably louder and clearer sound and tweaked individually for speaker, line out, and bluetooth if u use that

11/09/2013: Dominion/9.3
  • (System) Added setting to display/hide brightness slider in notification drawer
  • (System) Removed several Lidroid Toggles that don't function on our phones
  • (System) Toggle UI tweaks
  • (System) Re-added video player fix which was not included in 9.0
  • (System) Updated system fonts to those from Android 4.4
  • (System) Removed several build.prop "tweaks" to improve system stability
Please re-apply your preferred theme after updating.

--------------------
Yes, you read that right: the stock brightness slider is back. It can be easily hidden/displayed. Settings->Display->Brightness slider

Finally got around to removing the useless Lidroid toggle options (multi-window, smart stay, etc.). If I missed any, let me know. I am well aware that the brightness toggle is only semi-functional. There's really not much I can do about that as it seems to be this way on all power toggle programs that I've tried on the phone. The button is still there for those who prefer it over the brightness slider.

As per usual, this is a cumulative update and like the previous update, changes some framework files. You may need to re-enter your Google account login credentials after applying this update.

Any theme other than Holo Blue will need to be re-applied after updating but the changes do not affect existing themes so no need to re-download if you're using a theme other than Holo Blue.

Holo Blue, on the other hand, had to be updated to include the changes in this build (Holo Blue replaces files to revert them rather than 'theming' them the way the other themes do). Recommended to download 1.5 if you plan on trying out multiple themes as its still required to revert to Holo Blue prior to changing from one theme to another.

Out of curiosity, what apk's and libraries are required for the Google Home Launcher? I've been trying to port it to another device, but have had no luck so far.

See this thread over at XDA. It also has a lib as an attachment but I didn't use it (wasn't there when I made 9.0). Personally, I just opened all of the APKs in 7-zip and copied the libs from them manually. Worked great for me.

To be honest, however, I stopped using Google Home not long after I released 9.0a for two reasons:
  1. Graphical glitches (see the highlight around the microphone on the search bar for example)
  2. Widget incompatibility (see Google Currents)

I'm back to using Trebuchet, but I really liked the font that was used for the icons in Google Home so I flashed a Roboto Condensed zip file to get that nice look system-wide! It will probably be an option on the next full release of Conquest, if I make another full release. Also, "OK Google" hotword functionality can be added with Open Mic+ which works great. Probably also be an option in the next full release.

Just wanted to put this on record. I was driving around with a friend last night and the phone was switching towers. Well the phone hit 4g (i have prepay sprint mc1 update). I made calls and sent out texts and before i could test the net i lost 4g. It only lasted 8 min beings how we were driving around. Hmmm interesting

I do not support using Conquest on Sprint phones at this time. If you wish to support it, feel free to post it yourself in the Sprint forum. Please stop posting in this thread regarding your Sprint phone. This is the Virgin Mobile forum.

If I get this properly running on Sprint phones (I already have testers lined up, and don't need any additional ones), then I will post it in the Sprint forum. Until then, feel free to use this on your Sprint phone with no support from myself.

O i dont need support for it i just think it was kool somehow your build broke the 3g barrier of a prepay sprint.. All support givin on a vm phone has worked and tested great on a sprint. Now how i think it broje the barrier is the roms baseband and the basebandbon the phone connects it to sprint with both basebands apns etc. in some areas can break the 3g to 4g...a real improvement on sprints prepay Samsung victory. Nice i aint no cook lol but testing, beta testing has been my thing for years. I believe others are using this on there sprint and loving it. I just don't know how well this rom will work on a sprint 4g plan, but i think it would be great :)

Some people just don't get the picture. Please stop posting in this thread regarding your Sprint phone. This is the Virgin Mobile forum.

weird problem i had today. on a couple widgets. the picture frame widget i had on shuffle every 5 secs. and it was changing rapidly and draining my battery like it was nothing. i removed it and restarted my phone and placed it back and still the problem persist. also i know its not included in your rom but i added a clock widget and it wont stay up to date with the time. other then that everything seams to be working properly for me anyway. just my widgets

If you're using the Google Home launcher, try a different launcher. I've found that Google Home has some incompatibilities with widgets. Guess this is probably why they're only pushing it to the Nexus 5 currently.

Yeah I'm using the Google home launcher. So that answers that. The only other problem I can think of is when I sync my contacts with Facebook. Then go to 8sms I believe it's called, the contact pictures do not appear.

This is due to the way SecContacts.apk (TouchWiz Contacts app) handles contact synchronization with Facebook. It doesn't actually make the Facebook profile picture the 'default' contact profile picture the way the AOSP contacts app does.

You'll find another SecContacts.apk-related problem if you try to click your own avatar in a message thread.

Nothing I can do about either, unfortunately, as this is the way Samsung programmed their contacts app (actually, there may be something I can do about the second issue, but the Facebook sync issue is out of my realm of possibility).
