Yessir. XP SP2 compat mode and run as admin.

I've never seen that come up in properties before, so your guess is as good as mine.

Thanks again for the guide. I never would have figured this stuff out without it. Now to look into this Velocity business. :D
 
so i like a tot4l nub decided to root me phone and use titanium to get rid of some apps...well gtalk got the best of me shuda read b4 i went into it all...but ya i didnt so i lost my market...followed this tut and got ev erything back to v8 original specs...now for some reason it wont recognize my usb...i mean like i plug in and it charges and everything but the phone doesnt give me the mount option nemore...or say usb debugging connected when that option is enabled....also tried the delete usb in device man ager trick....ne ideas... i will confirm i am at v8 and *#*#CHECKIN#*#* went thru ok.... ne suggestions?
 
Try a factory reset? do you have a custom recovery? and VB will not get pushed due to issues people were having so it was just recently pulled.
 
hadnt tried the fact reset yet...thought i had did it through the phone menu and everything works great now :D great tutorial man...i thought i had lost my market forever mucho kudos man^^
 
No. This is just the completely stock verizon rom that came with the Ally. the NV settigs are deeper. and it doesn't affect that.

The only issue I had was that the lg updater kept closing before finishing when downloaded from your link, but downloading it from LG solved the problem.
 
That problem is scattered. i haven't been able to replicate it so i kept the link up just in case. thanks fro registering just to say thank you though!
 
After doing all these steps I still can't load update it starts then I get guy with hazard sign, and the messages say Failed to verify whole-file signature and under that is says signature verification failed

help please!
 
Well just followed the guide a second time and everything seems okay although I have not been pushed the update yet and in system upgrades it claims phone is up to date... help?
 
okay I think it worked now, loaded two different updates, when
I look at about phone what can I use to tell if I am completley up to date?
 
okay so i tried all of your steps and it got all the way to 100% then i got an error saying it stopped running and then it just shut off on my computer...i still have clockwork on my phone and idk how to get that off...can you help?
 
The instructions to get stock recovery back are at the bottom of the guide where it says:

Flashing the stock rom does not flash the stock recovery. But after you flash the stock recovery you have you do a factory reset.
