VZD Update available in LG Mobile Support tool

Reinstall drivers then restart your computer should work. Not sure why but it wasn't working on my wifes ally until I restarted. I also pulled the memory card and rebooted her phone. She was running stock 2.1not rooted
 
I did uninstall and reinstall the drivers, i even thought that maybe it didnt like zvc, so i rolled all the way back to zv6 still, same thing says no update available. i have it set to run as administrator in xp mode through windows 7 and still same thing. Like I say I ht old one works great i reload zv6 with a .cab file, if i could get one of those for froyo id be in business.
 
Any update to if this has been rooted yet? We use two of these phones at work and it's not a big deal for the one I use but my manager uses the wifi tether like a crack addict.

Any way to disable the Ally's constant nagging to update? I'm afraid that I might press 'install now' by accident...

Seems to pop up every hour or so...
 
I am having an issue still. The mobile support tool is showing model 191 no software version listed. I went to supporting model and LGVS740 is listed and VZD is the file, so this is it........ I am wanting to click update did anyone else see this or did it show the correct model and info correct?
 
it showed "LGVS740" as the model
and vzd is the software ver you will end up at
so what you are seeing is what I saw when I did it.
Also it appears there were 2 different links.
1 not showing the vs740 and the other that did

If I hold my mouth right, it identifies my device model as "191" and attempts to start the update then says s/w update not available for my model.

I also had this happen after upgrading to ZVD. Pretty sure it's a missreporting error and safe to ignore.

Now, I'm not trying to troll or come off disrespectful to this poster, but some people don't want to go through the manual command prompts. Why?? Because the fact that accidentally doing something WRONG could completely brick your phone.

"Then why bother to root your phone? If you don't want to risk it, you don't want root."
Well, I disagree. There are people, like me, that are too afraid to go through all the command prompts because -- I don't know about anyone else -- it'd be MY luck to mess it up for something that I have glued to my hand 24/7.

So, I guess I'm just wanting to state my opinion: No, I disagree with you. I believe that there will be a 1-click root program. Why? Because there ARE people out there that WANT to help others and push out these 1-click root applications -- like what are already out now. If someone did it in the past, why wouldn't they do it now??
