Root WARNING: before you flash your radios, read this thread!!!!

Lol, after reading this checking my keys was the first thing I did. Though I did notice in the gb update thread that they had a kernel with wireless - n working. Dont know if that would help or not  anything that would get my speeds back to where they were would be great. At the moment I'm running the newest radios with koni's elite 3, and a 4.3.4 netarchy kernel. Any idea/thoughts ya'll may have on the issues would be great. Speeds were kicking ass (well at least usable if nothing else :D

here are some reading that may help:

Is it as simple as the OP to do this? I mean, just download and flash. I have my Wimax keys (checked with the app by JoeyKrim) just still kind of weary about the whole flashing radio deal.

It worked well and quickly for me, make sure you have a good charge, do the cache and d cache wiping. Don't pull the battery.

It talks about how to do it here, http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/407672-evo_radio_2-15-00-08-08-flash-procedure.html

An issue some have had is they don't realize when it is done and they are supposed to reboot manually and they wait for hours,

It worked pretty quick but leaves the last reboot for you, just like the first post in that thread said.

You DONT have to flash the radio's if you dont want to..when i first started the whole rooting thing i was kinda worried to do half the stuff on here lol...but once you've done a few successful things without any problems, it puts you a lil more at ease...besides, you have A LOT of excellent people in here that could probly get you out any problems you encounter if any.....but if you do flash the radios, just make sure you have a nandroid backup with your wimax keys on it and saved somewhere on your computer....

And that last reboot is done with the "power + vol" method? Just making sure...sorry for the noobiness.

everyone was a noob at one point or another....you dont need to apologize...thats why this forum is here...to ask questions....its better to ask questions and fully understand what your doing before you blow up your phone...lol...im j/k...i dont think it will blow up lol...

Thanks to everyone involved, about to up my level of android know how. Been flashing ROMS and Kernels for awhile now, now the real advances begin.

So, I just flashed the combo and it went way too fast (I think), flashed from CWM recovery and now I'm rebooting from the main screen (of CWM recovery that is). Is this right? everything is loading fine, my splash is still the same, boot ani as well.

edit:baseband is still the same as well, how could I mess that up? smh

just go into your settings/about phone/software information/more/ and look to see what your baseband version is....it should now be 2.15.00.0808

your using CMW?? you need to switch to Amon Ra recovery....it doesnt like to work with CMW...

go here...

http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html

and there is a step by step guide on how to switch recoveries along with the file to download...

think you are good to go partner. :D

edit: Wit, you are saying it didn't work? the radios flash really quick, oh, just read where you said baseband the same. Crap, yeah, everyone I heard of did it with amon ra,

I did something wrong....I switched over to the Amon-ra via the CWM Rom Manager. thought this was the proper way. I then flashed the combo from there and everything seemed to be working ok (in the recovery that is). I rebooted and now I'm stuck in hboot. Bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, nor power down works, theyre all clickable but it goes right back to where it was.

Any help on this one?

you might have somehow lost your recovery.

do you have a card reader? if so the go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html and go to the switching recoveries section and install amon ra2.3

I got to the recovery, no /sdcard/nandroid folder to restore from. I can connect to windows via USB-MS but when I create the folder and place my nandroid from CWM in it, and then try to flash the nandroid, I get an error. Oops ....something went wrong! Please check the recovery log!

edit: thanks in advance.

ok so looks like you do not have any room on your card now. try deleting or moving files to your computer.

But if I stick with Amon-Ra how do I fix this? Kind of searching around a bit myself, looks like I may have to push something via ADB.

ok not sure what needs fixing now. looks like you tried to flash the radios and it stayed the same but then you could not go into recovery, but now you have one with amon ra 2.3. can you boot up? you can just try and flash the radios again and this time with amon ra.

Can't boot up past a recovery. I just used the CWM update.zip and then flashed my nandroid from before I switched to Amon-Ra. None of the files were available except the boot.img. I'm stuck on my splash screen now. I want to place a previous nandroid on my sd but I'm afraid to pull the battery.

ok in amon ra try wiping dalvik cache, cache do that 3 times then reboot. if that does not work then try wiping dalvik cache, cache and data and do it three times then reboot again.

Lol, I laugh to keep from boohooing. I'm back in CWM now. I'm stuck on my splash screen. I can't turn it off, or anything else for that matter. I think my only option is to pull the battery.
