We want Keylime Pie

Not seeing the point of a big OS update since no real speed improvement since ICS anyway. Now, if they give us true mass storage mode, NTFS support (all without root)- I would like that :) Not happening though.

Well it's ultimately up to the carriers when or if we get it.

If we do get it will be later this year. I'm Ok with getting 4.2 in the meantime. Plus I'm hoping we finally get this Premium Suite update.

I'm happy with Jelly Bean for now. It exceeds my expectations. If I get Key Lime Pie before I'm next due to upgrade, it will be a bonus. I note though that Orange (my carrier) really made it's S3 owners wait until it was good and ready to be bothered.

Perhaps now the whole "EE" thing will make it better?

pay more attention then lol, jellybean is alot faster and smoother than ics ever thought of being. The other things you mentioned, yea prolly not going to happen. What do you mean by NTFS support??

Yeah I agree JB is faster than ICS.

S3 has USB host mode, but it doesn't support NTFS format without compiling support into a custom kernel. We have obviously CIFS for network support of NTFS Samba shares.

Chances are key lime pie will be more efficient and therefore faster but seriously it hasn't even been announced yet so really this thread about wanting key lime pie doesn't make sense as you can't have what isnt there. But believe you me I'd bet my s3 and nexus 4 on the s3 and note 2 getting key lime pie or whatever it may be called.

You didn't read the article very closely obviously.

Just cause there saying the phones will get key lime pie / 5.0 doesn't mean Google has announced it. They are just confirming that they plan to release this version if android on those particular devices as soon as possible.

I stand corrected.

im getting metro facebook all riled up LMAO!

Now why would you do that? KLP has not even been released by Google or on a Nexus device yet. Hell, it will most likely be announced at Google I/O which isn't until May 15th! And *then* you can start rattling the cages but rattle all you want, I'll bet it won't even start rolling out from carriers until late fall and that's if you are lucky.

Sit back and enjoy JB.

I do hope so, but remember it was Orange who took over T-Mob, not the other way around. If he T-Mob side of the business had sufficient say in the design of EE's services, things could get better.

I still don't see the big hurry for it. Then again, I haven't understood the anticipation in any since gingerbread, since rooting takes care of most of it.

This.

4.2.2 is an amazing OS. I am more than happy to be running it for a long while. I mean the damn phone has gotten to where it thinks for it self it seems like.

I would rather wait and have Google make sure that there as few bugs as possible and for it to be polished out the wazoo instead of rushing to get it out. They wouldn't do that Im just saying.

On a side note. What do you guys think the "theme" of KLP will be? GB was green. ICS and JB were blue and Holo was introduced. I personally LOVE vanilla. The Holo UI and blue icons is just pure sex. Do you think they would go with a color scheme to match that of an actual KLP in that it could be a soft green ish color? I would be okay with that. I'm a fan of a sharp lime green. Anything that stands out and makes you say "whoah" when you first see it is what I'm hoping for. Regardless, I'm sure Google will not let us down either way.

It was neither of those scenarios posed above.

Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom merged their T-mobile UK and Orange UK businesses to form EE of which they are both 50% partners. No one business took over the other.

You're right though, let's hope those formerly responsible for Orange branded operating systems have been fired and have nothing to do with EE's branded OS... They never managed to release a branded Android OS that didn't introduce new, non-google, non-oem bugs.

When did anything on this forum make sense?

Fact is, even if Samsung say that the S3 is getting 5.0 (which they are saying), Metro PC's and <insert other Random US carrier here> may not get it, because its the US carriers that control what is released and Samsung don't really care, because all those US carriers together make up less than 30% of their S3 Market. The GT-i9300 is where their money is...

Is the thread premature? Probably.
Does that mean it makes no sense? Arguable.
OP's prerogative? Definitely!

I think Orange pushed JB before Samsung did for the sim-free s3 in the UK lol. I still dont understand that

Depends if u want an official oem-based rom or not though mate.
Must admit i really wanted JB for the s3 because i had (overly) high expetations for Google Now but i was disappointed lol :)

I really liked Google now, but the battery drain was just too extreme for my taste.
