Root Weather apps not working/Kings GB R4

Any idea what could be causing my weatherbug or weather channel apps not to work? It states it either loses connection with the network, or it times out retrieving data. Even if I manual input the zipcode, it still pulls no data. I've tried uninstall/reinstalls, as well as wiping data from the apps. Normally I use weatherbug, but tried weather channel app since it didn't work and had the same results.
 
I actually had the same thing in CM7 today. I just flipped on the TV to see the weather lol. I'll be going back to another rom though (miui), to see if that's it.
 
Mine didn't work last time I was on this ROM, so I had to use the web to view it lol

On a side note, I really liked the MIUI ROM but it still needed some work before I could use it as a daily driver. This was last month or so whatever GB version that was. I couldn't get my contacts to sync with facebook pics, had a few lockups and force closes too, but was a nice ROM. Ill try it again when more bugs are worked out.
 
i use beautiful widgets for my homescreen clock and weather. i never had any issues. it also has a 4x1 weather 5 day forcast that works pretty well.

Didn't think about that. I have BW also, and it does work correctly. Odd.
 
Mine doesnt always work but im on a diff prl...any of you on a diff prl? that could be the issue. It should work if you set it yourself though....just not auto

what is king's gb4 rom? this crap is getting ridiculous :p


if we are talking gengersense it's been an on and off issue with some phones that is actually mostly caused by the newer ui not being compatible with our phones lol... I gave up on it until this stuff stabilizes or I have time to try and fix it myself (i.e. I'll buy the phone that it works on when that phone comes out hahahahahaha)

Well its prl dependent if im roaming when i flash :) Ive noticed if I flash at work and im only on 3g roaming with 0001 it has no idea where im at and never finds my location or updates. Speedtest routes through Africa, weird stuff. As soon as I get out of roaming or connect to wifi it will find me.
 
Good god MR ed you havent even seen gb r4? its my least favorite of his gb roms. I thought r3 was till r4 came out lol. Where is the link to r2?

Sooo many people loved his GB r2. if you can find it grab it instead. Its just my opinion, they probably run as well but the themeing has gone mad LOL. Most people I have talked to feel the same way and prefer r2.

Good GB roms...cm7, evervolv, kings r2, destroyer v2 just a few off the top of my head that seem to be popular. If you only try two I would go cm7 and evervolv they are both made from the source code itself, most others are made off of those two...

The latest CM7 appears to be the BBQ one. Is that one stable (as any AOSP/GB ROM anyways)? Do these types of ROMs work with Netarchy's SBC kernels also? The tiamat's nice, but i had better battery life with Netarchy's older 4.1.9 (i believe it was) SBC. Tiamats and Netarchy's NOHAVS SBC kernels are the only alternate kernels that have ever worked correctly on my phone :(

cm7.0.3 is the latest stable version.

netarchy toastmod kernels are sense and tiamat are aosp. so netarchy kernels will not work with cm7. try savage kernels. you can get them in my sig ref#2 scroll down to the aosp.

Latest stable is BBQ 7.0.3.1 for CM7

Some universal kernels for net will work with AOSP but in general no is the answer. If you find one labeled universal you may want to try it but as far as AOSP most now use savaged zen or tiamat. Check the rom and kernel link in my sig it will take you to most roms and kernels.

Savage has a rom out to go with their kernel also that isnt bad. Im not sure if that one is off source or not.
 
I am not using a different PRL, but my current rom is having issues, I'm guessing that is to blame more than anything.

offtopic: evomattnc, how is your plan to get kicked off of sprint going?
 
hrm....try prl o1337 i dont have these wierd issues you guys are having. oh....i skipped right over "brutal"....prime example of my complaint of less roms and more themes lately....that whole run is all the same rom with different themes. i use either r1 or his neon verson.

savaged zen was way too slow on my phone so it didnt last long.

really digging this speedy port....just need to figure out why my partitions are being read wrong.

I have the partition issue also not just you, something in the rom. Wish a2sd worked also but still running kings shift retro version...

it is really driving me crazy....a2sd isn't working on any of the newest roms I try.

I have minimal appage :(

so far so good...I cleared out some garbage from the rom...installed my core apps and still have 100 or so mb left last I checked.

if I install much more I will have to use apps2sd until this weekend when they get the new version with a2sd released
