I just read somewhere that you may not need to unroot to update, that you will just need to re-root AFTER updating.....but that kind of doesn't make sense if we can't get OTA while rooted , OR MAYBEEEEE that doesn't effect Cricket or Metro maybe like it would Verizon or something.

Just not sure if I should unroot with superoneclick, update, and then root with z4root, or root again with superoneclick

Do you need to leave the z4root app installed once you root though?

I don't really know the answer to that one but I think one would be safer to leave it in place. Just a guess though. It may not matter.

What does it say in your settings under: Firmware version ?
Mine says: 2.1 - update 1
What does that mean?

Mine says the same...not sure what it means by update 1

Maybe it means the update is already available.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if it is and Cricket doesn't even know it!
