What changes do YOU see with Froyo 2.2?

Any one having issues with the youtube app? It will play a video, but when I try to play another it will give me a "sorry this video cannot be played".

Just tried. Got the same error when selecting a 2nd video. Selected a 3rd and it played right away.

I noticed something like that the other day. Someone posted a youtube link that was embedded and when I would click on the link, it would give me the message " this video cannot be played ". When I clicked on the actual youtube play button, it played in the browser. Weird

Haven't seen anyone else mention it, but market now allows you to "Allow automatic updating" so you don't have to manually install updates. SO. MUCH. WIN.
Love it.

can go either way on that one. I try and read what that update might have potentially broken or maybe added an undesired function. i.e. I read a recent update to 'Air Control' now has ads, so I didn't update. also ran into a couple of apps where they ask to go from ver. A to ver. B it requires an uninstall of ver. A

But you're right whenever more funtionality is added then that is a WIN. Especially for my wife who doesn't pay attention to those updates to much.

True, but you can turn it on/off per app, so its definitely nice for the more "official" apps directly from Google, or the ones that have lots of updates and are always straight forward. I definitely hear you though, at some point an app is going to get borked and it will take 20 minutes to figure out what when wrong. lol

Just posting to say I appreciate all the early adopters (beta testers) of 2.2 before it's "Official" OTA update. Learning alot just from these posts, can't wait to get my notification saying it's ready to update:D

Cool, didn't know it would per app thought it was all or nothing. Big Bonus! Thanks.

So, it sounds like I won't lose anything on my phone when I do this update OTA. That will be great! I was dreading losing my App's and settings and games where I have progress saved, etc.

umm maybe, maybe not.

Yes technically you will not lose anything after the OTA update.

but I'm seeing a few posts that mention doing a hard reset clears up a few minor bugs here and there, maybe the OTA will have cleared up the minor bugs by then.

Are you running into this problem?I've installed apps only on SD CARD using this link and tweaking the phone... but surprise , after installing ... hmm 6, 7 apps the memory (phone mem) shows only 10 mb's free, and I had over 70, maybe 124 if I remember it right (I did a reset after froyo installment). Keep in mind , I've installed all the apps on SD card using this tweak on my phone : How to force apps to move to the SD card on Froyo the green code blog , and the ones who somehow installed on phone mem , I've managed to transfer them on SD card, but now I can't install any more 'cause my ****ing phone says that is has no space with all the apps installed on sd card!!!I'm going nuts, don't know what else to do , maybe smash the phone..Did you encounter this issue?

Currently updating my bro's EVO with the official ota update. Will respond once it is done to see if there are any changes.

Well i checked everything out, everything is the exact same thing. The only difference i see between the two evos is that the official one has a brighter screen. I'm not sure if mines has a defect before the OTA's or what but tahts about it.

I am dying to know about the difference of .3 and .6

Did they add/remove something?

Well since people with OTA are starting to post camera issues, and market apps not showing up. It basically looks like nothing was changed but the number.

Just waiting for the flash/website issue to pop up and then we'll know for sure.

New features and changes in Android 2.2 (Froyo) update for HTC EVO

I tested both photo and video. No problems for me.

Well it didn't happen to everyone with .3 either (my camera/video never stopped working).

Basically I am just saying those who said HTC pulled it to "fix" the problems that showed up, were wrong. As they are still shoing up in the OTA build.

FM radio works now. It actually finds stations during the scan. Quality and quantity of stations is still much worse than my ipod nano's radio

Rev3Remote app is messed up. Shows keep pausing and hanging. (turns out Wifi had no connection. After I disconnected, and reconnected Wifi, it works fine now.)
Youtube plays ok.
In general, it feels much faster.

Seems that a lot of people are having problems with the .6 update. I for one am glad that i got the .3. I will update to .6 once the issues are resolved.

Font size adjutment in GMail app for OLD EYES like mine !!!!! I just wish I could do the same in the People app and Messages app ! I have replaced the messages app with Handcent SMS, so I solved that problem over a month ago, but not so with the People app ! I wish Handcent would create a replacement for the People app ! I NEED BIGGER fonts in the People app and I would be THRILLED !
