What changes do YOU see with Froyo 2.2?

So it doesn't have to do with the actual gallery it's a special app from the marketplace called 3D gallery? Cause I've never had 3D gallery just Gallery.

How and what is it fixed? I can still go to phone or messages to send a message and it shows everyone of my FB contacts not just my peoples contact. At least Hadcent gives you an option to just show people contacts and you can uncheck FB.

Anybody notice if 2.2 fixed the facebook sync with people issues? Preferably people with over 2000 friends

My friend said shapewriter went away and I had just recommended it to someone at work. Don't know why it's gone.

Updated my EVO, but not my wife's. I decided to do a completely fresh start and cleaned out my machine prior to upgrading.

There are two apps that I cannot seem to transfer from my wife's EVO with Bump, and they are not available to me on the Market:

I notice that the color coding for using other calendars has a different color for each different calendar shown on a merged calendar. That is a nice improvement

Mine was unchecked in 2.1 became checked again so I unchecked it and now it was checked again. It's a setting always on mobile data and it says uses more power if checked. It's not the background data one.

Settings -> Accounts & sync -> Background data

Not sure what you meant by mobile data - maybe same thing, maybe not.

The developer that makes shapewriter was bought out by another company and with that acquisition, Shapewriter was taken off the market (presumably so that it can redone or integrated into another application)

Question, is the button on the wired headset still useless? Or does it now make/end calls?

I thought that varied by headset make for any phone and here be dragons?

Since I got the phone on launch day, the multifunction button has worked for me to make/end calls. In fact it did so when I preferred that my media player use that input. Now I use Mixzing, which has an option to deliberatealy intercept wired headset signals. I'm assuming that if I disabled or uninstalled this, that it would restore the call/endcall functionality.

Edit: Hmm... so I uninstalled DoubleTwist (which intercepts the headset signal), and disabled the MixZing setting and I can't seem to get the headset to respond to the call functionality. Bizzare. I tried messing with the TTY settings to, but to no avail. Truly bizzare because I once remember being frustrated that every time I hit the button, it would dial the last caller instead of advancing a track of music.

I dont think I've seen this mentioned, it's small but it is different - when I am texting, I no longer receive an audible notification when a new text comes in - it shows up within the conversation. I've missed a few responses cuz I had gotten used to listening for the sound and didn't notice that a response was sent. I cant decide if I like this or not, but will look in notification settings to see if I can change it.

I'm getting the same problem-post up if you figure it out.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced these issues?

1. When I change the screen timeout duration from the standard 1 minute to 2, 10, etc. the changes do not save. The screen keeps going off after 1 minute and when I go back into display settings it says 1 minute instead of what I set it for.

2. When I change the screen brightness to Automatic or anywhere else on the scale other than the original dim setting, it does not save. The screen keeps going back to dim after about a minute or so.

I am running Launcher Pro Plus and was wondering if this could be causing it instead of the 2.2 update.

Thoughts?

Mine save, 2.2 (.3) and no launcher or lock screen apps.

Do you receive it when the text application is closed but dont when actually in the application and sending texts? Mine does in both scenarios.

Although, kind of embarassing, for all this time I thought 2.1 borked having different notifications from stock until one day I played in settings from WITHIN the messaging app itself and, low and behold, they have their own settings.

Menu - > more(dotdotdot) -> Calendars and you can choose which calendars you want to show.

Obviously you have to have facebook syncing turned on before this works.

When I drill down to an event, I get only the following options:
- Add Reminder
- Delete Event
- Share vCalendar
- Agenda

Anybody else have this issue?

Essentially, you'll be able to edit an event by holding down on the event in the daily view.

If you go to the events list, where you can add event (don't click on it), long press on the event and it will give you the option to edit.

So since the new browser is supposed to be faster than 2.1 stock browser, is it faster than ddolphin hd? Does anyone reco stock 2.2 browser over dolphin?

In short, Dolphin benefits from the V8 javascript improvements in Froyo. Though it might be a tad slower than the stock browser, it's faster than 2.1

Steps:

1) Go to the "Calendar" app;
2) Hit the "Menu" soft button at the bottom of the phone;
3) Select the "More" option;
4) Select "Calendars";
5) Uncheck "Facebook";
6) Hit the "Back" soft button at the bottom of the phone;
7) Hit the "Thanks" button at the bottom right corner of my post.

The brightness settings have been acting up (not switching to a brighter setting in sunlight) since my install, and the brightness control in Aldiko appears to be borked. Related?

Just noticed this today too. Very annoying as I use Aldiko almost daily. Hopefully they release an update to the app to fix it.

Same here! I could go to bed with a full charge and onlky thing on was wifi and wake up with low 90 something or maybe 80 but today it was like on 70. And the only thing I have been doing lately is keeping auto sync on and I never really had it on muchg before. But my battery is much worse. And I still want to know did everyone that got there update on Tuesday OTA do they have version 6 and us ealry people have 3? And can we get 6? My phone says no updates available. So I was going to leave it until another comes out to fix bugs. But I have 4 batteries and everything else is working fine so I don't want to hard reset.

Yeah, something is constantly auto-syncing or something. I left my phone off the charger last night, and my battery went from 89% to 52% in six hours.

man, all you guys with batt issues really need to root when a method is released for 2.2. i'm having the complete opposite problem. since updating, i'm trying to kill my battery on purpose to re-calibrate it. it's been off the charger for...almost 30hrs and i've got the screen on max brightness and have it set to not turn off and it's still kicking with 8% left lol. it just won't freaking die!
