what keyboards are u guys using?

you should look into ultra keyboard its a good layout of a keyboard and it also can do swype.. it has it own tool bar at the top that has many other options as well.. like converting like over 30 langues back into english or using english and write in another langue..

If you want something swype like, you can google for shapewriter, or there's slideIT, ultra keyboard, and a few others I can't remember on the market.

I personally recommend ultra keyboard. It has the luxury of having both a swype style and normal style in one. Try it for 24 hours. It takes a bit to set up the first time though.

i can type pecking style with swype.. so what is special about "normal style"

Nothing really. I find it a bit more accurate to peck on a dedicated keyboard than on a swype style one, but ymmv.

For ultra I do normal keyboard in landscape, and swype in portrait.

I tried Swift, the Swype Beta and firmly believe that the Ultra is the best. I think it's everything Swype wanted to be, but without the annoyances. The auto-suggestion is fantastic, its much quicker.

I use the HTC_IME keyboard that comes w/ Fresh ROM. I've tried out Swype but I just can't bring myself to use it as my regular keyboard.

Say what you will, I'm using 8pen. Check it out. After several hours of practice, I'm wicked good with it.

i tried it out (now that its free)
i have figured out how to work it, but seems to me like it takes way more swipes to form a word than say swype does

what am i missing that would make it faster? seems like less swyping (or circling in 8pen) would be the key to making typing faster

Fooled around with Ultra Keyboard, and feel like a geek toying around with the translation feature and posting such non-sense in facebook.... LOL

It was fun, but ultimately, it's a Jack of all trades master of none type of keyboard. It can do everything right, but it's not the best at everything. Swype still wins in swyping, SwiftKey is still the best at text prediction. Though I bought the app, I don't see it as my regular keyboard. For one thing, it doesn't have a numpad in the numbers keyboard. It's also a little more frustrating to use when swyping. The only thing I really loved with it, is the translation feature. :)

+1 bought the Ultra Keyboard the same day Swype updated with the microphone. Decided to keep Ultra but Swype... swipe's better. :D

Swype... but I a gonna give Ultra a try...

After seeing how many people here like the Ultra keyboard, I bought it the other day and have to agree that it is a little nicer than Swype. I really like Swype but I think that some of the auto correct/suggestions aren't even close. I've only had Ultra for a few days so I may run into some issues later but it's at the very least as good as Swype. Plus it has a large amount of customizing options.
