What the heck is the deal with iphone users Vs Android users

Who knows. Apple is a corporation and it must make money. Jobs is the face of Apple and his word is likely the last word. If Mr. Jobs leaves Apple, his replacement might not care as much about Apple like Jobs.

Not sure what will happen if Jobs leaves. Will there be other products with the impact of the various iThings or will Apple simply produce unremarkable products?

he could always be voted out again like in '85

I buy phones that work my way. I don't care about the brand, speed, features. It's how I use it.
I took graphic design in college. Found out I could crash a Mac faster that my PC.
Also, I cross platformed and used a Canon bubblejet with Ripware. The Mac/Epson users couldn't believe that I was getting exceptionally good color from my setup.
This just showed me that neither system was better than the other.
That's why Apple and apple fans can tout all they want.
The same goes for Android. If everything was so great with the current phone, the fanboys would not be getting new phones and changing carriers every time a new phone came out.
If I wanted to fanboy anything - it would be the old Palm PDA. The PDAs could do quite a bit, they were easy to sync and manage from the desktop. And they did have apps. They just couldn't make phone calls. (The first Treo might be the exception.)

Xoom may not have flash like the iPad2, but the difference is you know flash will come to the Xoom. Just like you know the iPad2 and really any idevice will never have flash as long as job is alive.

Heres a question if Jobs dies will apple do an about face on the whole flash thing on their devices?

Not saying I want Jobs to die. I hope he live a long life and gets better.

iMacs do... he just doesn't want Flash because it means people can get games on the internet rather than deepening Apple's pocket on the App Store. To be fair, a lot of CEO's would do that

Well android loves to rub it in apples face with the whole we have flash but apple doesnt. So you know its going to. Just a matter of time. Just like apple will never allow flash.

After all if my Droid 1 "does" Flash. you know Xoom will do flash. Your just grasping at straws to try and make Xoom look even with the iPad2 or maybe a lil lower to the iPad2.

No, I'm just pointing out the fact that right now, it does not run Flash. It may or may not ever run Flash. As it stands now, the two are very close to even. That's just the facts. Even if the Xoom magically has Flash tomorrow, do you really think that the fact it's got Flash is going to be a major decision point for most people?

Here, Here. I agree. Nothing like the PalmPilot. I once manufactured them, still quite fond of them. Still a Palm Fanboy.

Read his formal and very public statement regarding why no flash. He makes a number of valid points. Although some here will argue.

You are likely correct. For me, it is not an issue and I spend quite a bit of time on the web.

isn't it for the shareholders to decide?

Yes, that too. If they have a good reason and the majority shareholders agree. Will not likely happen, however. I would hate to see him go. Obviously, current stock prices seem to indicate he is doing a great job.

Wait and see what we will see. I'll vote no.

Bob

oh I know he won't be ousted, he's really good.
when you say you'll vote no, do you have shares in Apple?

for many people who surfs the web and cant get on a website because their Idevice has no flash support. Case in point is Howard Stern. He loves his ipad but doesnt like it due to the fact it doesnt have flash. He goes to sites that run off flash. So yes Many people will be looking for a tablet that will be flash capable because they are looking to replace a laptop with a tablet and apple will always come up short on that. Android has Always come through with flash. So you know Xoom will have flash. Xoom probably forgone flash to release it same time as ipad 2. You know they are working out the kinks with flash.

I doubt it. Look at how apple stock plummets every time there is talk of him leaving or on medical leave due to his illness. You can say Apple is Steve Jobs.

I was just visited his site and noted he offers an app for the iPod and iPhone. I can easily view his site on my iPad/iPod. So kindly clarify what I am missing.

i've never given apple a penny in the past, and will never in the future. i've owned an iphone 2g, but that was given to me. sold the stupid phone after 3 weeks, and got myself the galaxy s.

apple does so many shady things. even back in 2006, they made unibody laptops and ipods.. just so they could charge you $120 for sending your laptop/ipod in for battery replacement.

they deleted some of your apps when you flashed your firmware, forcing you to buy again.

they tried to stop all accessory brands, so they could sell it themselves. at jacked up prices.

their macbooks consist if similar components as PC's, at almost double the price.

their phones have no diversity; all of them are 3.5", and only have one latest and greatest model.

when negotiating partnerships with other companies, they tell them "my way or the highway."

the whole att situation really shows what apple really cares about the most; sucking you dry of your money. instead of releasing their phone across all carriers, they signed an exclusivity deal with att. in return, they received a bigger margin of $ for each phone sold, and held att on a leash at the the expense of the consumers. i couldn't ever imagine google signing an exclusivity contract, because they just want their product to be in an open market.

also, doesn't steve jobs dislike adobe/flash because they wouldn't work by his terms? seriously, f that tyranist steve jobs and his unilateral negotiations.

i've hated apple since they became big, which was in what.. 2004? to refer to another post, here are some (there are more, i just don't remember them all)
