This pisses me off...
The other manufacturers have made tablets, ergo, they copied Apple?
Or Sebastian perhaps.
totally unrelated note (perhaps this will lighten the mood in this forum) is it me, or do some of the android avatars kinda look like the southpark canadian characters? maybe im nuts, but its funny either way lol
Oh and Bob, could you please change your name to Robert or Bobby. Your name pisses me off too.

You, sir, owe me a new monitor. Currently, mine is dripping with spewed tea.
I'm not a fan of Apple's marketing, either, even though it's brilliantly effective. My whole problem was the whole "Can your phone do that?" campaign. I was using a crappy Sidekick during that time, & my answer was always "Yes, yes it can." I had an overzealous friend who bought into all the iPhone hype, believing that no other phone could do what her iPhone could. All too often we'd have the following type of converation:
Friend: PENGUIN! Look what my phone can do!
Me: *demonstrates the same thing on my Sidekick*
Friend: *looking forelorn* Oh...well...it can also do this!
Me: *demonstrates the same thing on my Sidekick*
Friend: Oh...well...soon all iPhone owners are getting an update so we can copy & paste anything on our phones!
Me: *demonstrates copy & paste on my Sidekick*
Friend: Oh...

I'm pretty sure Apple didn't invent the computer, screens, touch screens, phones or even the tablet (they just made it big) but do we call them copycats? no, we don't, I'm glad Steve Jobs is better, but his speech was halfly about making snide comments at other manufacturers.
Well I'm English so, that's just not cricket.
The same could easily be said of some who buy Android devices. The proverb about not throwing stones in glass houses springs to mind.
Welcome to the big, wide world of marketing. Nothing new and in defense of Mr. Jobs, what he said was rather innocuous. At this point, I agree with the Fanboys. The iPad is the clear winner, so far. I am NOT saying Apple is better than Android, just good enough to solve my problems and well made.
What I wonder about is the next Apple iThing? If history is any guide, it will likely be cool or perhaps radically different. Or, perhaps if Mr. Jobs leaves, for whatever reason, will the company survive or become just another computer maker? If Jobs is the leader and ultimate Fanboy, will his replacement have the same vision?
Bob
I think Apple's success is mainly due to their designer, Ive something and apparently he's leaving to come back to the UK, you have to admit, his designs are amazing!
I disagree with the fanboys, I think the iPad 2 will have been pwned by half way through the year (not in sales, in specs)

Specs don't matter though. Sales is what matters.
to the company, yeah, not to everyone else

The iPad 2 is already pwned by the Xoom (I wish they would release the wifi only version price and release date...)
In what way? Spec wise they're very close.
Well, sure. If you ignore:
* RAM
* I/O ports
* Flash capable
* 4G capability
But, if you ignore those, then they're really close.

And in terms of general features, they are equal. Just sayin . . .
I think you go Android because you dislike Apple or you go Apple because you.... um..... er..... Because you like Apple.
No real difference except the Xoom is way over priced for what you get. And I do not think it is made of metal and glass like the iPad.
