What will you upgrade to next?

VZW will send you a VISA gift card which you can take into any bank and take out cash. I did that with a few phone rebates from VZW already.:)

Just a little correction. The gift card is a Verizon gift card only that can be spent at a VZW store or on VZW's web site to buy equipment or pay a bill. When you buy a phone from Verizon and it has a mail-in rebate, those are the spend anywhere Visa cards.

if you can use it to pay a bill then is just as good as real money anyway.

132$?? that website says 33$ for me :(

This should help people when they upgrade to the next phone:

As of right now, you can get $132 for a functional, non-cracked screen, HTC Droid Eris. VZW will send you a VISA gift card which you can take into any bank and take out cash. I did that with a few phone rebates from VZW already.

Should make things easier if you're even considering buying a phone off Craigslist, too. Like I've seen Incredibles sell for roughly $300 - $400. Knock off the price of your Eris and it's not so bad! No waiting for NE2 or whatever. :)

Out of curiosity I checked my D1 and the trade in value for the D1 in the same condition is $52.00 (made me re-check the Eris, no offense to you it just blew my mind that the (in my opninon) less wanted Eris would pull in a higher trade in value. Makes me very curious as the reasoning behind this. I think that Verizon is in need of the Eris for handset exchanges instead of handing out newer high priced models.

On a separate note anyone looking at this week's Best Buy Mobile Free Friday will be sorely disappointed as this week's phone is the LG Ally. How they can offer the Fascinate last week then turn around and offer the garbage that is the LG Ally is beyond me.

Oh ok. My bad. I guess I can just use the money to pay the phone bill...or part of it. Darn data charges....

Make sure that the third question is answered "NO" when it asked if your screen is broken. Sometimes people click through with all "YES" without looking carefully. :)

ahh, the key is the first option about making outbound calls. I selected no. I guess it could, technically, through skype/voip/etc
