What's for dinner ?

Speaking of cheesy bacon... When I was a kid our local market.. a mom and pop shop sold a cheese bacon. It was in their display like all of the luncheon meats as it was back in the day. The cheese had a smoky bacon flavor and was chucked full of real bits of bacon. I have no idea where they got the wheels they sold but man it was so darn good.

Sounds like a variant of the pepperoni cheese I love.

One dinner mint and I'll explode...

What did you have huh?

pizza with green olives.. from one of the best pizza places ever!! It's kind of a mom and pop place down the street that has been there since the 70's...they carry a great wine selection and imported beer as well..the pizza is always incredible ..round hand tossed and pulled old fashioned way tossed up in the air and stretched.. so the crust is thin but not too thin..with real air bubbles that kind of get crispy brown in the oven...the pizza makers are true artists:)

next time..I'll snap a pic

We went to Golden Corral buffet restaurant and I pigged out on the Prime Rib & Shrimp special...i'm still bloated!

Now I'll have to fast my way out of it.

There is nothing quite like a quality hand made pizza from a master. We had a Pop shop called Angelo's when I was a child. That was the owners name... he would come out of the kitchen and visit his patrons. A true Italian with a passion to please his customers.
He served a great pie. All of his stuff was great. He would come and check on your table and if you weren't full.. he'd bring you some more... how things have changed. It was my first experience eating any Italian dish. I thought I had gone to food heaven.
That was before the Carney brothers opened their first pizza hut. They started right here where I live. They likely got some of their ideas from papa Angelo lol.

It was, it was :D and third noon this week that we hit that beachclub. Sort of our second living room  G'luck tonight. Busy night being Easter Monday you think?

Well, last night was dead. Tonight we're expecting some nice, warmer weather. But, I doubt we'll see much of an influx of customers.

Huh, what's the name of the place?
I work at a pizza joint myself. :)

It's called Primo's ..although I know there is also a chain called" Primo's Pizza" it is not the same one. Food is in my blood too:) must come from my Mother's Grandfather.. he and his brother came here from their village in Northern Italy all alone and by boat when they were just 13 and 14 YO ! It's still an inside joke to my family when someone says "let them eat cake" because they came with very little money in their pocket and when they arrived here the only thing they could afford to buy to eat was a stale wedding cake that they split..(apparently someone left it at the bakery because the wedding was called off!) ha
anyway when I was very young before they split..My mom and dad owned a restaurant that served among other italian dishes..an incredible caesar salad and square pizza that people stood in line out the door for! I would give you the recipe but I would have to kill you:) I can tell you the type of pan and cheese used is KEY!..:) also My uncle owned several restaurants before he passed..my brother is an executive chef... and you should taste my Lasagna!!!!!:)

Sounds awesome! :)
We make New Haven style pizza at our place, and I think it's pretty darn good. More or less family run; we have 3 locations in the DC metro area and are opening our third in a month or so.

What is new haven style? as in Connecticut?
what's the place called? I have friends who live in DC;)
