What's for dinner ?

They need to build some stores here in Seattle :)

First they need to stop putting em all in the suburbs and build one in DC proper!
Okay, that's not technically true. There's a small stand at the Nationals stadium. Every time we go to a game I get some nachos with chili. :D

I'm thinking about making some home made Louisiana Gumbo with chicken & sausages. Have anybody made it from stratch or use the gumbo mix? This would be my first time trying it.

I made collard greens for the first time tonight and I'm pleased to say they were delicious. And yes, they had bacon :)

No on the cornbread, but yes on the onions. :)
Next time get some Chow Chow. Makes it taste really great.

We ate some belly bombers earlier, White Castle burgers, but I had the fish!

Nothing fancy tonight. I made a meatloaf and had some mashed potatoes and fresh turnip greens from the garden. Just plain ol good eating.
You're the second person who had greens today. I like the turnip greens part but do not eat the bottoms. My mom used to love the bottoms.

I love both. The greens are from the turnips I did not pull last fall. The turnip it self is a bit woody after wintering but the spring greens are most tender and tasty.

I am Grilling out some Pork Chops and have not figured out the side dishes yet. The wife got some nice center cuts so they are bound to be deeeelicious. I'm thinking of a thia rice dish with curry or sweet chili havent decided on it quite yet though. Broccoli would be good with that mmmmmm

Went to Mortons in Arlington, VA for dinner tonight. My ribeye with cracked peppercorns was beyond delicious!!!

I thought I wasn't close to you? I'm in the Embassy suites on South Eads if that helps.

Well, it is a little bit of a hike up to Friendship Heights from Crystal City, but not bad. You can Metro (get off Tennleytown and walk about 5min from the Red Line) or drive. Depending on traffic (which in DC can change with a finger snap ;)), it'll probably take you 25-30min.
If you still want to get a taste, but something closer to you, we have a store in Clarendon:
