Help Whats your beef with the X?

some lock ups and not as good reception as my samsung omnia.

it's my first android phone, so it's taking some time to get used to.

Speakerphone and earpiece. How does this big arse phone manage to have such a tinny speaker. Ringtones and music playback are incredibly soft. Have tinkered with the media settings and honestly can't tell a difference. The earpiece is basically the same experience. Volume is turned all the way up and still have to strain to hear. I can say I have neither issue with my Dinc. At this point I'm 90% sure its going back.

"Sync only existing contacts" under settings in the FB app.

FB>menu button>settings>Sync contacts

EDIT: Found this thread http://androidforums.com/support-tr...k-friends-get-added-my-phone.html#post1145663

Go into settings, then sync, then uncheck facebook.

both of these aren't workable options for the Droid X. Facebook doesn't come preinstalled and it will still sync facebook contacts. Unchecking "sync" will remove all facebook contact syncing. Would be nice to have "sync only those with phone numbers" like the Incredible had.

1. Cases are not compatible with the car kit. This is super ghey. I am really dissapointed in that because I LOVE the look of the clear snap on case but that damn thing is so hard to remove to put on the car dock that I had to return it for the black hard silicone case (which I actually quite like now but its not as aesthetically pleasing as the clear snap case) I am in the car 9 hours a day so the phone will be sitting in the car kit a lot.
2. Battery life is mediocre. I payed with it for 2 hours after I got it and it needed life support. 5 more hours of playing (including using the GPS with the car kit and charger attatched) and it needed a boost again from the charger.
3. The wall charger is short as ****!
4. I had to pull the battery 4 times today due to the phone freezing. WTF!?!?!? You might just have a faulty phone
5. It does run hot. I DLed a battery app that measured the battery temp at 107 degrees at one point.
6. Disappointed with initial camera quality (hoping the software update fixes this)

Overall I am satisfied and maybe a nice good overnight charge will do the trick and I'll go from satisfied to elated. Now if it stops freezing all together I'll be blown away.

I havent had any of these issues other then i do agree the charger is super short. My battery life is great, soo much better then with my inc. I can go a whole day without worrying about the phone dying on me

The camera button seems pretty cheap... it feels like it is only connected in the middle and not on the ends. Phone is really slow after booting up but fine after a few minutes. Other than that, as mentioned the short charger is my only other real complaint.

My beef with the X is every time I plug in the USB I get directed to V CAST™ Media Manager download page. Does anyone know how to disable that annoying feature. Otherwise I love the Droid X, its a computer tech wet dream come true.

...I almost went with the original Droid over the Eris...

I'm just a little spoiled by my Eris :D ...although this was not really a feature of old-style (non-smart) phones. I just really liked seeing the LED indicator that told me when the phone was charging and when it turned green when fully-charged.

I can cope without it. :)

Seems to be an HTC thing. I like the notification too but It's not the end of the world without it. Maybe someone will make an app that will enable it?

The only things I'm not liking is my battery life is HORRENDOUS!!! Also when I link my contacts to their facebook it defaults my contacts to the facebook name and pic as opposed to google. I have been playing with it and i can't seem to find a way to change it? It's kinda annoying when your facebook friends have fake names, and I don't want my parents under the fb name lol i want them under Mom and Dad!! Also the multi touch keyboard seems a little laggy to me. But swype on the other hand hand is super awesome compared to the beta version. More to come!! :)

I have some installed apps that don't show up in the app drawer and my Wifi won't stay connected at my house. Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. I have two routers one a G and one an N and it does the same on both. I've seen threads on other forums about this Wifi issue also.

I installed launcher Pro and ADW, I wasn't really using them (just had them installed) but if I hit Home key the DX kept prompting me for which home I wanted to use, said I didn't have a default on selected. The options were LP or ADW no Blur. The only way around this was installing Home Switcher (or one of those other launcher) and then I had to select Motorola.Blur. On top of that the other launchers didn't show up anywhere else and to uninstall them I had to open the market app and tell it to uninstall from there. Is this how they normally work?

There were other apps that didn't show in the app drawer and the only way I could open them was going to the market app and selected it (it says installed BTW) and then selecting OPEN.

Anyone else have this ? I did do a straight copy of my old SD card and now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have done that as there seems to be little things with apps acting buggy and I had lots of trouble trying to reinstall them.

I might factory reset and start from scratch.

I have the same problem did you figure out a solution in terms of the home launcher. It is really bothering me.

My only thing is, I cannot figure out how to UN sync my facebook contacts from my phone. I don't actually like half of them enough to call them, only enough to have them on facebook! Any help?

I deleted both Facebook and Twitter accounts from my phone. I then went to the Market and downloaded both apps. The twitter app gives you a choice to sync the contacts or not to. The facebook app wont automatically sync. I guess it had to do with the Social Networking app on the phone that made all contacts sync together. Add each app separately from the market and you should have no problems.

WOW nice prices what do they charge to ship 40.00? :D

their shipping is actually really reasonable as well. it really is the best place to buy most anything for electronics!

i don't really recommend the replacement toner for printers - but everything else is excellent, and they're very fast as well.

my call quality is really shitty. i haven't had a phone that sounded this bad in probably 10 years. there must be something wrong with mine :(

I LOVE this phone. However, there are a few problems. This is my first Android phone, so I'm still customizing A LOT. Anyway...

- It DOES get awfully hot.

- Mostly, though, I'm annoyed that I spent HOURS upon HOURS perfectly tagging my MP3's (including embedding cover art for every song I have) - a VERY meticulous process... Now, 70% of my music won't display cover art on the X. I don't get it.

1st, I like the phone...but
1) Sense is better than blur
2) Put my games in a single folder. Folder trips out when scrolling contents.
3) Volume buttons are small
4) Missed several calls already due to low ringer volume.
5) Sill like it better than my DINC.

Don't get me wrong, I love the phone. This is so much more advanced than the iphone in many ways. However, here are some major negatives imo:

1. Cheap hardware buttons with lateral/vertical movement
2. Lack of virtual back/forward/menu buttons (not sure why they decided to mix a touchscreen phone with dedicated hardware buttons. it makes navigating EVERYTHING such a pain. It makes so sense to mix the two. You are constantly going back and forth, and it is just plain confusing and slow.
3. Bugs/lagging. this phone/OS still needs some polishing.
4. Lock-screen unlock lags while locked in an application.
5. Resting the phone on its back makes it rest on the camera lens. My lens came out of the box with two scratches. WTF is that all about? They should have recessed the camera lens/cover. (yes, even if it is just a cover, a scratch will affect pictures).

Again, i haven't been able to put the phone down. It's really fun and advanced. But there are some serious weak points to it that need to be addressed.

just factory reset my x and boxed it up.

;(

I soooo wanted to love the phone. I was in like with it, but no love.

I am not to thrilled with it either coming from an Evo. My Evo was defective and I would have waited weeks if not a month or so for a replacement plus Sprint pissed me off! I wish Verizon had an Evo. :( I am going to give it a day or so and maybe try Launcher Pro too. I got the phone the media dock the car dock and a car charger all for about $180. Worse comes to worse I will sell it all for the price of the Fascinate when it is available if it doesn't grow on me by then. :D

On a home screen, instead of pushing the Phone icon push the Contacts icon (to the right of the App icon that's in the middle). Now push the Settings button, then go to Display Group, then push Google or Phone contacts, depending where you want to pull the contacts from.
