Root Whats Your Favorite ROM?

oops. Double posts. EDIT: 07/29/2011- Just Downloaded build #07272011. I had went from 787Hz-480Hz to 768Hz-480Hz on the last build to compensate for the force closing of the Gallery(44 pictures in all). Gallery froze at 768Hz had to go down to 729Hz on this build, and still had a hole(no image in the frame, but shows when selected).Angry Birds has a laggy after taste. Screen transitions not near as snappy. Speed or Gallery. Speed or Gallery. Speed or Gallery. I choose Gallery. I'll have to do some more bencmark testing on this build. Maybe I'll restore backup of last build first. Then instead of just wiping cache and Dalvik, I'll format boot, system, and cache before going to this Build.EDIT: 1620-Finally got everything working great,Back to 787Hz-480Hz. I tried a lot of wipe's and reboots,re-installs. It ultimately came down to not installing the theme. I will get everything set up where I like it,then do a backup. Then I'll try to flash the theme after a couple of reboots. I'm hoping this will work.EDIT: It worked. Everything works(except for Bluetooth of course),and I have the Green Machine theme.(I hate being a "Nuub" sometimes)

i dont know if you guys stumbled on this or not, but one of my favorite features in cmod roms is the status bar feature that allows you to brighten and dim your phone on the fly by holding your finger on the status bar while its in up postion and sliding left or right to dim and birghten. you have to enable it in your settings before it will work. its awesome for going in and out doors. i think its in all cmods, but i only can confirm that its in backside and athenos and aosp being they are the ones i tried.

That sure beats having to find the widget on what ever page I put it on. I got rid of the widget by the way.

WOW! I thought I was still asleep and dreaming. Build#07302011 of the BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme has improved Bluetooth functionality. If it would pair and connect but just didn't have audio. Could it be!!!! I will test on the first person I think will be awake this morning. Might have to wait it's still only 3:33 am. I won't be able to sleep.

IT WORKS,IT WORKS,THE BLUETOOTH WORKS. I have a Motorola visor mount bluetooth unit, model #T215. The unit paired(it took a couple of tries),then connected. Made a call, and came over the bluetooth speaker loud and clear. Person on the other end had no problem hearing me(they weren't made aware of this test so I would get honest feedback). Now the real test:would it make a voice dial call.Yes!! The unit I have is designed to automatically turn it self off when you get out of range. I turned the bluetooth off at the phone, unit turned off. I turned the bluetooth on at the phone, unit turned on and connected to phone automatically.Turned unit off manually, rebooted phone. Bluetooth was still on. Tuned Bluetooth unit on,automatically connected to phone. This unit was designed for the newer smart phones. If you have an older unit designed for pre-android/I-Phones, It probably won't work. You will have to purchase a new unit that is designed for smart phones in order for Bluetooth to work with this Phone/ROM. I think I payed $40.00 at WalMart for it 3 months ago. If WalMart doesn't carry it any more, check Best Buy.EDIT: I had the CPU set to 600Hz-480Hz when I tested the Bluetooth. Now I think I should test it at various speeds up to 800Hz. I will let yall know how that comes out.(all test are being done without the Green Machine Theme, will test later with the theme)

I tested bluetooth at 787Hz-480Hz without the theme, tested with the Green Machine theme at that same speed. Everything still worked on the Bluetooth. COOL! I really don't think I will go any higher as my last benchmark tests with this phone started it in a reboot loop at 825Hz-480Hz

I know this has kinda turned into the BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme extravaganza, but don't be afraid to let us know what your favorite ROM,or Kernel is,and why

The Experimental Green Machine ROM with built in theme and some WiFi tweaks to possibly fix a connectivity problem that a couple of people had had is out and can be found here [ROM+Kernel] Inferior Human Organs unofficial CM7.1 - Android Forums
A list of all the changes is at the same place.
This looks to be a nicely leaned version of the BACKside ROM
Also at the site you can download Blarfie's new recovery IHO_recoveryv4.0.1.4.2
I'm sure JerryScript would love feed back on the new build.
Well, time for me to flash and test.

Wow. JerryScript is a ROM updating animal. Cool. I'm now running the BACKside (CM7) + Green Machine Theme Build # 08102011. The headset can now be used to make calls,The call button doesn't work yet, but the way these updates are coming, it won't take long and it will be fixed. The gallery is still a little wonky at 600MHz-245MHz even after going to Dev Tools and selecting Media Scanner. That's it,that is the only things that I could find wrong with it. There are so many extra's with this ROM it will take some time for me to figure how best to use them all. Well I guess I'll do a little benchmark testing.

i know that this has gone a little off what is your favorite but mine is aospcmod been running 600-806 mhz with no problems. i have tried alot of roms and this one the built in player plays faster when running you tube. i don't use Bluetooth so i can't say much about that. i download mvideoplayer and with this rom i can fast forward and it will start instantly. the portable hot spot my comp will connect and run just as fast as it dose with basic wifi I.E is 35.moth. there is not more to say but its very customizable and fast.

You are right it has gotten a little off the intended track. Thank you for your input, and info on your favorite ROM. Your not running a little hot at 600MHz as a minimum, and your battery drain is OK?

I was tired of all of the force closes and other various issues I was having with BACKside...great ROM, lots of neat features, plus who doesn't love Gingerbread? The dev is also really nice! But I just couldn't deal with the instability and slowness, so I went back to Bumblebee...I think I'm going to stick with Bumblebee for a while. SUPER stable and fast.

I'm overclocking 600-768 and I'm having no problems with hotness or battery drain. May lower it to 550 though, just to be safer in the long run. :)

You might try downloading a temp. monitor like "TempMonitor" and see what your lowest temp at night is with everything off(should be between 19c and 21c). Then check the high side at the hottest part of the day with everything you normally have on,on(shouldn't be over 39c) If your temp is above these then you might try letting the phone idle at 480MHz. This will not hurt the perfomance side other than a very slight lagg from off screen, but that's it.

The one thing you have to deal with, with Works In Progress(WIP), is that there not perfect just yet and the Dev needs a lot of members to try it and give him input to make the ROM better, to find out it's weak points and help him make it a truly awesome ROM

Some people think it's fun and kind of a unique privilege to be able to help in the creation of a new ROM. That would be me.
