Where are all the Android ladies at? Let's stick together

I'm leaving this forum.

I agree with lunatic (although I am a girl) - and most of the guys, or people in general really, on the forum are certainly not like that. There's always a few pigs and trolls within a large group of people, but I do hope you don't let it taint your view of everyone else.

I'd also like to invite you to the SF Lounge, one of my favorite places to go, and everyone's really friendly. Kaessa can back me up on that.

What, it takes guts to insult females in a forum full of men? I bet.

And here I thought Android Forums was different.

ok.. it is bad to say it out loud.. in our society...
I am not out to insult anyone... so I dont say what he said ... to non-close friends.. who can not be realistic..

but.. lets be real...
when I say a word.. most will have quick generalization of that word

asian= short .. thin..smart...not much body hair
but I have seen otherwise.

black= taller.. more aggressive.. more athletic..
but i have see otherwise

when they say techie... what do you think???

i am sorry if i offended anyone...
like they say.. opinions are like azzwholes...
and I got mine!
:)

You are right, I will will not let trolls or sexists... make me want to leave this place... if I can find some friends.

Thank you so much.

Good, I'm glad you're staying. Don't let guys like that chase you out. Bite back. :D

And what's funny is guys wonder why there are no women in tech. Well, there's your reason. Guys, if you want more women in tech, you need to stomp harder on assholes like that.

If any of you have an issue with a post here, please use the

button. Do not respond to the post and make it worst. I will say that anywhere online or irl, there are people with such opinion and there's nothing much we can do. IMO, ignoring such comment is the best coarse of action.

Sorry. I felt it needed to be addressed. Next time I will go through the proper channels.

Thanks. :)

Just so there's no confusion, ALL members are expected to treat others with respect. Android Forums prides itself on being an inclusive community, so I strongly advise everyone to review the Forum Rules & Guidelines so as they are clear as to what is and is not acceptable. Any further posts that breach these will result in infractions... or worse.

I promise!

Is it too late to chime in? My first post on this website. I just got a Samsung Captivate and cannot believe how beautiful the display is. It will probably take me weeks or months to convert over from my Treo 650 which was my everything...2300 contacts, hundreds of memos, an amazing calendar (datebk5), and 700 recipes. Among other things. I'm finding, just by reading other forums on this website, that Palm really did the best job with the basic PIM apps. No one else comes close. So I will have to make tough choices, I guess. It will be fun to have internet in my hand. There is so much to learn!

Of course you can chime in! Welcome to Android Forums! The SGS has a beaut of a screen! I'm jealous of the SAMOLED. I only have a boring AMOLED (that eats the battery really badly)

If you haven't found the Captivate forum here it is: Samsung Captivate - Android Forums Explore there, if you have any issues, read what's been posted or ask for help if you find nothing related to your problem.

If you're looking for apps, the Application Forum is great:

This is a great thread on explaining how Android works: http://androidforums.com/android-ap...ps-avoid-viruses-guide-those-new-android.html

Hi ladies, I am a female with an android, glad to see there's at least a few of us. I also just convinced my coworker to go android, so she's now rocking a Samsung Vibrant, just like me. Although I think it was more the device that convinced her. hmmm...

Forgive me, but I find it absolutely amazing that such things still need to be said in a forum, let alone in the world out there.

The gender level playing field was introduced to us decades ago, and here we are still fending off creepy, sexist junk from men (I say "men" advisedly, let's say "males," because that covers the mind of a foot stamping child residing in the brain of a full grown male).

In here, it's about devices, the love of using and figuring them out, not about who fits where, etc. Heck, the most informed person I've seen here happens to be a female.

Sorry, but when I saw Slug's great post there it reminded me of another fire that had to be put out in a discussion about gay rights in here a few months ago.

Jeese guys, relax, women can be smart, strong, cool, etc. Deal with it.
