Where do we really go when we die?

In the bible; the faithful man Job(while being terribly inflicted by Satan)asked God to hide him in the GRAVE. Why would Job(a perfect and upright man,one that feareth God )asked to be hide in the grave. Why didn't he ask, instead, to be taken to heaven? Ecclesiastes 9:5 says; For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.......Question: Where do we really go when we die?

I don't know but you will find out really quick when you die.

When you die there no longer is a "you" to be anywhere. If you're lucky, as your brain goes hypoxic you get a nice hallucination before you die...

The good people turn into smurfs, and the bad into santa's elves.

So that explains why smurfs are always happy, nothing to do with crack at all, and also why christmas always sux and you end up with a jumper and a pair of odd socks.

Next ...

The ground.
I'm inclined to agree. I found Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs(thats what it says), and the earth shall cast out the dead. WOW! So not only do we go to the dust(for dust thou art,and unto dust shalt thou return), But could this be the resurrection that Jesus spoke about. Question: Who gets............Resurrected?????????

raised from dead = it is you.. alive again
reincarnated = borned again as some other living thing. same soul. different life.

Well, if you have any kind of education in Chemistry or Biology, you learn that the "mind", your percepetions, memories, etc. are simply chemical reactions in your brain. You die when those reactions stop and your (vital) brain cells get destroyed.

Understanding that, it should be pretty obvious what happens when you die. The same thing that happened before you were born. Nothing.

If you're lucky, some of the atoms that formed you, your body, might be a part of another living being. That's the closest you can get to life after death. ;)

That fits with what King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes;the dead know not anything. I found a scripture in Acts 24:15 that is interesting,
it say's there's going to be a resurrection of the dead, both the just and the unjust. Hmmm.....If when you die you are supposedly judged and then go to heaven or hell why would we need to be resurrected? Unless in fact we actually go back to the ground(back to the dust) and are not able to think or feel. Then I can see why we would need to be resurrected.... So then, we must go back to the ground to await a resurrection. That must be what happens to us when we die. EDIT: EDIT: I looked in the JPS Hebrew-English TANAKH, and every where(I mean every where) I looked were the King James Bible said Hell or Grave I got the same word Sheol. Job could not have possible wanted to hid in Hell. So Hell must be another word for the grave?????

I believe in neither deities nor religious scriptures, but I'm glad you seem to be finding what you were looking for. Well, those books are pretty mysterious and unclear (to me at least) so I doubt you'll ever find a definitive answer in there though. :)

Well before I was born I was 50% in a spem and 50% in an egg. So I wouldn't say nothing happened before I was born.:p:D

Actually... if you decide to go that way, the atoms (or sub-atomic particles) that formed the egg and sperm were around for much longer before that. :p

Did you know when your mother was born, she already had all of her eggs inside of her ovaries? It's not like that at all when talking about men. Just random information. ;)

Man talk about women working with outdated software.:D

We rot away in the ground and that's all folks!
That's it! No resurrection with a possibility of everlasting life, being made perfect,no more wickedness, and all that God's word promises. That would definitely be a huge bummer! Hmmm, I think I'll have faith( (the assured expectation of things hoped for,the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld) in God's promises. A much better outcome, wouldn't you think?

I used to think if I was good, I would go to heaven. But then I read the bible. If you really want to know the truth, and want to go to heaven, its pretty simple. Just ask Jesus into your life and give your life to him. Its all spelled out in the new testament pretty clear. I really like how Paul explains it in the book of Romans.

Hope this helps somebody....
