You have partitioned your SD card already?[/QUOTE said:No I havent..not yet. I guess gparted is the way to start and that is next weekends project. Thanks for the info, I will research further.
I assume the process is:
Backup with Titanium to SD Card and to PC
Put Gparted on bootable cd and run
Use S2D to move stuff to Card.
I think one of my big memory hogs is Swype which I love, but am a bit scared to uninstall the stock Cyanogen keyboard. Together the eat up 40mb+
Which version of Market is it? Did you try upgrading Market using Villain Setup?
It's not a market issue.
Off topic.
You're moving apps to sd manually? Did you remove the dark tremor a2sd script then?
Yes but you have a2sd+ and then using that app, doesn't really make sense. You're splitting apps into 3 locations, provided you have an ext partition
If you're low on space you should move dalvik cache to sd using either terminal emulator or a2sd GUI
A2sd+ is a script that runs at start up and links all your /data/app files to /sd-ext/app. Moving them for you.
Apps2sd app is just an app that let's you bulk move using the native "move to sd" function.
Have you read our root memory faq?
This is another good example. Before I did this clean install, I ran a nandroid back up. I wasn't happy with having to redo everything again, so I just decided to restore this fresh back up. Once it had restored, it was like a clean install had still taken place, and EVERYTHING that I backed up was missing.
Wierd.
My GV seems to have a mind of its own at the moment.
what recovery are you using?
It's awful. Get off that immediately.
We recommend 2 recoveries
1) for erase size 20,000 users - cwm 2.5.0.7
2) for erase size 40,000 users - Amon-RA 2.0.1
Both in our toolbox thread.
To check erase size, download a terminal emulator from the market and type "cat /proc/mtd" and press enter. That's a space after cat
dGB will easily fit in the CM7 table - in fact it will fit in twiceI'm looking at the dGB rom that you guys have running. Will the CM7 image table that I have running be able to take advantage of the small size, or will there be alot of wasted space in the partition that the ROM sits in?
