Root White Widow

holy balls superman. my usb port just started working. did nothing different. just plugged it in. and got asked if i wanted to mount the sd card. being the sick person i am, of course i wanted to mount the sd card. i mount everything else. :-)

I looked through wireless and networks but I didn't see an option to turn off 3g.

Edit: a work around is to turn airplane mode on.

Not really... airplane mode disables everything, not just 3G, doesn't it? Including calls and texts...

My mistake. I was thinking of the stock ROM. Very odd that one cannot turn off 3G while using this ROM.
 
where would i find the wallpaper that comes w/ WW 4.6? Can i pull it from the zip file? When I flashed the ROM it never came with the wallpaper shown on the last screen shot

Worked perfectly, and now it defaults to high quality when starting a video. It still has a menu option to "Watch in Normal Quality" if you do so desire.

Whew! One issue down, two to go...

1. Proximity sensor while in-call
2. Sound with boot animation

Once I get those two things, I'll be set until Froyo gets perfected :D

I really want the gallery to be used in landscape... does anyone know how i could do this? and does anyone know how to zoom in the camera app? all these would make this my default rom!
 
I have been trying to flash WW all day... every time I do I get to the unlock screen and I can't get past it. I'm thinking my touch screen isn't working when I load it. I can still turn my phone off from this screen, but my touch screen will not allow me to unlock it. Any suggestions??? TIA for any help.

on this rom the only way to use the gallery in landscape is to launch it while holding the phone in landscape mode. You cannot rotate it while in the gallery though.

tsupdate3.zip <---flash from recovery if your touchscreen is completely unresponsive.

try apply called "screen on" there will be an option to set screen to stay on during a call. works great...

I just tried CyanogenELB 2.8 last night and so far it's pretty much the same as White Widow, except much higher MFLOPS (~2.8 on WW, ~4.8 on CELB) and the proximity sensor works perfectly when in-call (that was the deal-breaker for me). It didn't include the 3D Gallery though, but I already had the .apk so no big deal. Other than that, everything is pretty much the same.

Any chance of these fixes in WW?

I actually had to switch last night. No matter what I did, I couldn't get my phone to move apps from the memory card to internal storage. I redownloaded WW and reflashed it a few times, but it just wouldn't work for me. With CELB 2.8 it worked right away. Just hoping everything else works as well as WW. If WW gets another update, I'll bounce right back over here to try it out.

andddddddddd now it doesnt work again. worked that one damn time. guess i shouldn't have gotten all excited.
