Root White Widow

I got the YouTube issue fixed (the issue where the "Watch in High Quality" option, noted above, was completely missing).

Download the updated YouTube.apk here:
YouTube HQ Hack - Page 6 - xda-developers

Then follow these instructions:
YouTube HQ Hack for Nexus One | xda-developers

Worked perfectly, and now it defaults to high quality when starting a video. It still has a menu option to "Watch in Normal Quality" if you do so desire.

Whew! One issue down, two to go...

1. Proximity sensor while in-call
2. Sound with boot animation

Once I get those two things, I'll be set until Froyo gets perfected :D

has anyone else had a problem with this rom not playing wma files? i've got a lot of music on my phone and all previous roms and music player played wma files, this one is not, anyone know whats up with that

Any ideas on how to turn the screen on, while mid call. The screen is blacked out during the call and the only way to turn on the phone is to press the red end call button (hard button). Then the phone ends the call. Anyway around this or is it nature of the beast?

I press the vol up button, it works on my phone. Not guaranteed to work but its worth a shot.

Have you rebooted since you updated it? I updated mine, but as soon as I rebooted it went back to the old version. I tried deleting it, and same result. After a reboot it would be back. I've switched to a different app to manage my sd card. I'll just let Astro sit there.

This is something I am experiencing. I understand the old (free) version of Astro has expired, and one now either choses the free version (ad supported) or the paid version (ad free). I've uninstalled the version that WW4.6 came pre-installed with, and downloaded the new add supported version from the Market. It works fine, but once I power cycle the phone, the next time I open Astro I get the "this version is expired....etc". Anyone experience such a thing?

Swype isn't working properly. Won't let me do full words, just typing one letter at a time. Got a message that Swype was configured for another "device" and would only have limited functionality now. Any ideas? Thanks.

Also, SetCpu keeps force-closing. Can't even see what the settings are.

I would try re-installing both Swype and SetCPU. I had a couple of problems using previously installed apps after flashing WW, but re-installing them seemed to fix things.

Also, Swype frequently encouters errors when trying to authorize the install. This is due to the fact that the installer is a huge memory hog, and the Android OS doesn't want to give it the memory that it needs. When you go to install it, make sure you:

1. Close all widgets.
2. Use a task killer to kill all apps other than Swype Installer right before install.

You might even have to do this more than once to make sure that everything goes correctly.

Thank you. This worked. Now trying to figure out how to get Yahoo Mail working. Any ideas? Got to say that I'm really liking WW, after being on Smash...Seems to be faster.

Downloaded titanium, removed. Google voice and astro. When I restart though, they come back. Also I get terrible battery. In the time it took me to type this post I went from. 55 percent to 35.

Any. Suggestions? Thanks

Hmm, people have been reporting problems trying to uninstall stock apps in White Widow.

About your battery, do you have SetCPU installed? I suggest setting up profiles.

Anyone else had a problem with the phone vibrating when in a call? I went to setting and then call setting and unchecked the vibrate in outgoing calls and it still does it. Let me know if you know how to fix it.
