As long as it suits what you need. That's the most important thing. Just wished Samsung didn't price it so high. On a side note, NCIX Canada just sent an email saying it's for pre-order. So it looks like it's slowly trickling to other retailers now. Well in Canada at least.

Yeah. I'm sitting at a Samsung Experience Boutique. Was kinda anticipating it, but they don't know. The talk is that a 32gb was released somewhere in the world. I'm thinking Korea.
 
Now dare i say. Ive been researching the Surface with W8 Pro. Just dreaming it will come down in price

Not likely due to Windows licensing (it's a desktop OS you're getting) and the fact it packs more heavy expensive hardware. Maybe when Intel releases the Haswell chip.

Just as a comparison, my Note 10.1 was used heavily today at a conference. I was using mainly pop-up S Note and Sketchbook (yeah, mostly doodling during the sessions). S Pen very active during that time. The Note 2 was doing voice recording. Then watched a couple of movies.





Also note that the 8.0 has a smaller battery capacity (4600mAh) compared to the Note 10.1 (7000mAh). I would consider the battery for the 8.0 to be pretty decent and suited well for its size and weight.
 
But with the Note 10.1 having a 7000 mAh battery I'd expect it to last longer than 15 hrs. I get 15+ hours off out of my 3600 mAh battery in the Note 2.
 
A lot of scren real estate to power chews battery. Surprised that it isn't better though.

This was about 7 hours of usage playing "The Room" about 2 hours of surfing and 1 hour here on the forum. About 7 hours of Lotus Notes in the background. Down to about 39%.
On heavy duty day i get about 14-16 hours on my Note 10.1. By the way, that game called "The Room" is awesome.

Love my Note 10.1 and I am kind of thinking about picking up another Note 8.
I can ask for some best buy gift cards since my birthday is coming up then it wont seem so expensive.
I really wish there was a better selection of accessories for our Notes though. A wrap for the back or something like the incipio feather for the back of the 8 or 10 would be great. To me the attractive appeal of mobile tech is the slim-ness. I hate adding some giant shell or case and don't want a screen protector with how much I use the S-pen. I personally never got on board the otterbox craze. My opinion is it takes slim svelte design and turns it chunky.
The only way I'd consider fattening out my phone would be with one of those extended battery cases.

You have to remember that the Note 10.1 has a larger screen AND digitizer.That chews a good chunk of battery. Also with auto brightness I have screen brightness full at 100%. I also have it at 100% when playing videos. Multi window chews battery to. Sorry wasn't using pop up S Note. I ran the full S Note in cascade window view pinned on front.

Factoring the screen size and digitizer it has good battery life.
 
So, I'm waiting to get a Note 8 until before one of my certificates expires in late June. Just had a good/encouraging chat with a manager of one of the Samsung Experience boutiques. He is speculating that maybe they will release a 32 in a couple months. 16 was pushed through to start making sales early. He didn't know for sure that they will, but it's good enough for me to wait especially since it's available in 32 in Asia .

Just for stopping by and chatting, he hooked me up with a souvenir cup. Saw some other things like Android Samsung keychains and pens.

Here is the cup. It's got that hologram effect.

After seeing it in person again, I've decided that I'm getting the Note 8.0 for sure, but just waiting for any potential announcement that they'll release the 32gb version. End of June is D-Day.

Now, I've also ordered an Arkon sticky mount, to see if it will be an obstruction to use the Note 8.0 in my car. If it sits nicely, where I want it to be, then I will likely sell my International Note 2. That money will just pay off whatever out of pocket costs there are and I also should have some left over for any future tech purposes. Pretty much, seems like a win-win situation...and I'll likely be using the Note 8.0 even more than my International Note 2. I can always go with a pre-paid phone, when I travel.

So, I'll be joining the club by end of June (either 32gb, if released, or 16).
 
I firmly believe by that time there still won't be a 16GB version.
I was on the phone with Samsung on Sat (never rec'd the $25 Google Play when I registered).
I'm thinking that may be my own fault because the link for this offer isn't the customary registration link but I didn't know that until after I finally looked at the inserts that were still in the box.

Anyway, I spoke to 2 different people and they both said the Note 8 was selling like there had been a fire sale and some customers hadn't received the $25.
While taking with them I asked about more storage and was told the same thing I had read....16GB is it.

All I can say that sucks. I guess I'll leave it and wait to see if the price will drop. I guess this will be the first Note I will be passing. Honestly was so looking forward to owning it, but not now. :(
 
Does it really matter anymore. Seriously, half the time wr are off to purchase the next device within 6 months anyway :D
 
You got a point there. As it stands my next device will probably be the Note 3 even though I've said several times the Note 2 could hold me over for 2 yrs.

If I didn't get the 3, this will be the 1st time in 7 yrs I didn't upgrade in less than a yr. Normally I'd become incredibly bored with my phone around the 6 mos mark and as soon as something new was announced I was all over it.
So yea.... my upgrade cycle is every 6 mos.

Last time I waited 2 years was between my touch pro and the EVO. I didn't care for the bigger form factor on the touch pro 2 and that was when I was stuck on having a physical qwerty.

After the EVO I've upgraded every year. If I upgrade this year, it'll be the first full price upgrade I've done in years. Although, I have tons of family that want my phone, so we will see.

Another thing that I have been considering is porting one of my home phone lines over, but not sure bout that yet.

All my phones were full price. The Evo was the only one I got on an upgrade and that only happened after a light bulb went of in my head.
Yes, it was my choice to switch phones early & often but Sprints *system* was treating my full price buys as discounted upgrades. .... long story.
