Who LOVES the hump?

The hump, some people make a big deal, I love it, when your on a call your finger fits right in the ramp and is comfy, you can hold the phone up with 1 finger if you want... when on your desk or table, it tilts the phone up in the back a bit too.

Who else loves the big booty?

There is a hump?

Seriously,,,I do not even notice it is there. The way the phone is designed it just sits in your hand comfortably without being obviously there.

I thought, when I first seen the phone that it would be an ugly phone just because of the hump. However, it is the oppisite now that I own it. I think the hump makes the phone a bit stylish.

I always put it in my pocket the same way, hump up. It helps me to pull it out. Love the hump! Love the phone!

I'm a hump down kind of guy, so that way when you reach down in your pocket it all ready to go in your hand. Gotta love that HUMP!

I really like the hump. I just wish they would've arrange things so that the speaker was closer to the top so that it could take advantage of the space between the hump and the rest of the phone. Would make it louder when it's sitting on a table/desk I would think.

I feel as if it makes holding the phone easier. I believe it was a stroke of design brilliance!

i hate it.

i use my phone a lot at work. i would prefer to use it in landscape to view websites, with the phone sitting on my desk. when i do this, the phone is at a slope. it's great when i want to use it portrait, but sadly, that's not the way i want to use it.

When I first saw the pictures of the Droid X and saw the hump, I didn't particularly like it. It wasn't a deal breaker but I would have preferred a more "balanced" look to the phone. But now that I have it, (had it since launch day) I find it doesn't bother me at all. I find it helps me hold the phone when on long calls. (like 30+ minutes) The phone is just a powerhouse and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end smartphone.

Patiently/Impatiently waiting for the release of Froyo 2.2!

I think it's great. It makes it easier to tell which end is up, for one thing. I also appreciate that it probably allows the rest of the phone to be as thin as it is.

Viva la Hump!

Exactly this. It seems like all of the pictures I saw before I got my X totally over-exaggerated it.

+1

To be honest, when I saw the first pictures of the phone, I was disappointed to see the hump. But I definitely like it now, really I don't even notice it.

I didn't really think one way or another about it at first. Now, however, I agree with a few people in here who have already stated, in various ways, that it adds a bit of flavor to the design. It reminds me of the Hero, the one that US never got, and it's "chin". I didn't like that kink at the bottom when I first saw it, but as I looked at it more and saw the phone a bit more, it became a great quirk that made it stand out all that much more.

the hump is nice just playing with the phone.. its like a prefect resting point for you hand.. kinda give me the sense of it not being able to slide out of my hand.. i dunno

I love a good phat a$$

I thought I was gonna hate the a$$ on this phone but honestly, I can not even tell its there. It works with the phone.

Very well done with the design Moto.

Hate it, but maybe not as much as I thought I would.
I didn't like the incredible's (my only real alternative to the X) back as well. The lens hump had its own problem - let alone that ugly "layers" design on the back. Of course, a case fixes those Inc "problems".

I agree. There's been a few times where using the phone in landscape mode, but not held in my hands, has been awkward.

But in terms of design, I dislike the physical buttons, the dead-space on the front (above the buttons, w/ the verizon logo), or the lack of a pointing device much more.
