Root [WIP][DEV] Custom Recovery/Bootloader unlocking Work In Progress Thread

Wallpaper is not a problem for me in any way, plus we will also be replacing the partition containing wallpaper.

i was under the impression wallpaper checks for system changes, and that it was located in /sbin which is the kernel....

Yes, but there are other checks that we also have to bypass, that have no link to wallpaper. I know what to do about wallpaper, but the other checks need to be removed.

your post was about swapping system, which will fail due to wallpaper in the kernel.

swap the kernel and your aboot will fail you.

there isnt going to be anything done regarding the bootloader for a good while. i dont know enough about that kind of stuff to even attempt. here is my list of priorities:

  • get cwm booting well enough
  • get it so zips can be flashed from cwm and fix the fstab etc
  • get it so that it will reboot without wiping data
  • get it so it reboots and actually reboots

i get those 4 things working all within that apk form ill be estatic, at that point you guys can start making custom roms with moderation (obviously wallpaper is gunna tell you no on certain apps etc :P). it will be then that i will have done everything i could have done for this phone, sell it and try to recoup as much of the lost money as possible.

Love my motion but I went and bought a connect while they were cheap:o

Can't make the unbrick guide for that right now.

Is the source released yet? Id Like to compare it.... Im setting up a dedicated hard drive for my ubuntu build instead of dual booting with windows like I was. I also didnt dedicate near enough space to it b/c my hard drive is always full lol.

Just checked im d/l it now.

Man I wish I had access to a regard....

I have the source code for the Motion as well as the source code for the Motions Kernel as well of you guys want it....

Edit: I have the source for both MS770v10d and MS770v10c

Here is a small chunk of the kernel source that I thought you guys may want to see. I don't know if it is useful, but I'd thought I'd upload it anyway :D

Check the chunk out HERE

I will upload all of the source code and kernel source code if anyone wants it.

The kernels source code has been release by LG...just do a search on MS770 under the Mobile Phone category here and you can download either v10c or v10d.
I have push both version to my github...v10c is here and v10d is here.
But it not worth anything until we can start backing up and flashing!

Hey Bob long time no see at least since my optimus days :) glad to see you on the motion forum. Hopefully you'll be sticking around...

My grandma has a Coby tablet and I Put ClockworkMod on it, but you needed to flash it through a fastboot command everytime. Can we have a similar concept?

well once we can get into fastboot we can try bt til then we have to keep trying to unlock our bootloader. or try to boot and make it work via this apk method
