Root [WIP][DEV] Custom Recovery/Bootloader unlocking Work In Progress Thread

oh? and if its a 4.1 upgrade? who then would say screw jellybean to get ics? :P

i like ics better it out performs jb in a lot of ways. i have watched and read many times in many apps where this is true. i watch flash video on my phone which is way easier to install. new is not always better even in benchmarks ics out scores jb so real world plus benchmarks ill take ics. please dont speak with your heart and speak with your mind. a few extras to me does not out performance. and maybe android 5.0 will do both

app devs need to update their apps to jellybean, otherwise performance is just the same in ics. flash was discontinued, IMO for a good reason though. please show me where there is side by side comparisons of ics vs jellybean on the same phone. i dont even know what to make of this next sentence.

as you can see he is comparing the att sgs3 vs the international. the internation is a quad core exynos 4x12 device, the att (and teh rest of the us variants) is a qualcomm snapdragon 4 dual core chip which uses arm cores similar to arm15. what that means the us variants is very similar but outperforms the quadcore due to poorer arm9 based cores.

so please, tell me again how i am wrong?

edit: it was really not necessary to PM me twice either. im a big boy if you prove me wrong ill admit it. so far all evidence points to me being right.

you are saying because the one does not say att that it is not a us carrier i think pocketnow would have stated one was quad-core int ver or the test would not be far.if you are correct then i am sorry because the quad core out performs the us dual core but one is a test phone for pocketnow they are both dual core.

what..???

45 seconds in he says the white one is the international one. note the missing carrier text?

the blue one is the AT&T sgs3 (the dual core one) and is teh one you are claiming is faster (its a toss up, they are faster at certain things and teh international is faster others).

so no one is quad core and is the phone with jellybean, the international variants always get updates first. that is the phone you claimed was so much slower because it has JB.

Calm down. We're kinda straying from the topic of this thread. And getting defensive about this is extremely trivial. How about we all focus on furthering the development of this phone instead of debating number of cores on an S3?

ppl have stated that ics is faster then jb in many comparisons between the two. a jb has more/better features but despite butter it is slower then ics in benchmarks and in the real world testing. each to his own i think you are incredible with all things android. i have checked into this tho many many times. i do respect you and think you are way beyond me. but i have checked into this.

i feel like an ass you are so right he did say that i am so sorry.

i have seen ics beat jb in benchmarks but i am sorry and i was wrong wrong wrong and i really am sorry about that. i guess thinking i knew something you didnt went to my head sorry again.

shabby has done more for us in one day then i ever have. i hate that i was standing by a false statement about that video the ways i was i will try to make sure it does not happen again.

So now that we've got that settled. The boot loader is gonna evade us for a month or two (or indefinitely), so I'm ready to throw one of my motions at wall/window/family member/beloved family pet.

well we all know i like ics over jb for the most part.does that help anything no. but we did get to see me make a fool of myself so that should have been fun maybe my name should be mr. funny pants for actin like a clown. ps can someone tell me how to clear my pms

there is nothing wrong with debating someone, even someone with Shabby's stature, you did not disrespect him at all, and it was kept civil

the problem is usually these debates end up derailing a threads topic

the important thing is you admitted when you were wrong, so you did not lose face in my opinion

I have known Shabby for a while now, he is reliable source of information, on very rare occasions he is wrong

Back on topic now... as far as the wallpaper app in the sbin folder. Is it possible to create a dummy file the same size and replace it?
