That could actually be the correct name for it. Many Chinese companies do have names along those lines, like Flying Pigeon Bicycles, Double Fish Ping Pong Tables. Golden Deer Kitchen Utensils. Double Happiness Cigarettes. Although "drowning puppy rat processor" sounds a bit wrong. LOL :D
 
I have started posting reviews on every market I can locate this phone on,

Giving, in my opinion fair reviews, but always listing the STRONG negative of the locked bootloader, how it restricts customization, and inhibits development.


I figure if the users, and developers, who want to see a possibly unlocked boot loader start doing the same, it'll possibly become such a black eye for LG/Metro that they release a tool, or do an OTA.
 
The Cricket version of this phone is also locked, as well as the LG Spirit which has been dubbed "a bigger Motion". Many of LGs smartphones that come loaded with ICS are locked out of the box and LG has no plans of unlocking any phones. Any phones that came with gingerbread and update to OEM ICS also go from an unlocked bootloader to a locked one.

guys stop bumping this thread, its like if ur asking for something. relax wen news comes it'll come. not lashing at u guys just saying.


might seem like a douche but again just saying. we all want this dam bootloader to be unlocked(trust me, i have 3 other phones with unlocked bootloaders, i need this for my flashing addiction.)
 
well i personally think that people should probably read through this thread before posting a new thread about unlocking the bootloader....so they can see that their tool they found or their process that they found has already been tried and that it's probably never going to happen...

I know that if i had waited to buy a phone i would not have bought this POS because of the bootloader...and when I am buying a new phone I look at the forums for the phone to see what i can do to it...so i personally think that this thread should try to stay towards the top of the first page so that people who are looking can tell really easily whether this phone is a good purchase or not.

Bump it when there is any news about the bootloader ;)

drjrbliss (aka bliss (aka Dan Rosenberg)) unlocked an msm8960 Motorola bootloader. I've been talking with interloper (another dev) about it and he thinks that the LG msm8960 bootloaders can be unlocked in the same process bliss used to unlock the moto bootloaders (not by flashing a moto bootloader). Whoever is really good with using IDA to decompile the bootloader is who we need to help us, but he also needs to know a lot about android too.
