Root [WIP][DEV] Custom Recovery/Bootloader unlocking Work In Progress Thread

Sorry everyone. I didnt know shabby posted that.....I just now went back on AF since last night...

Bootloader is still locked. Unfortunately, LG decided to use same key on Motion bootloader and Lucid 2 bootloader...so when the bootloader booted the Motion stock kernel, i thought it was unlocked. But nope. It fails to boot an unsigned stock kernel. No idea why shabby hasnt said anything.

Thanks for trying atleast sammyz! I applaud your work! :)...a bummer but yea you tried all that matters!

UberCharge....
:ridinghorse: I'm gonna slice your throat.

Hahaha I'm kidding. Thank you for trying anyways sammyz :)

This is what I was working with before moved from Florida to Kansas, I haven't yet setup my PC to continue furthur. I know the unlock command issues a OK response where as many devices will say no. Some locked bootloaders prevent any flashing in fastboot of things like recovery and boot blocks(if they even allow fastboot) . I have issued the unlock command before flashing each time after rebooting into the bootloader. Not sure if these blocks can be flashed without the unlock command? I was getting different boot errors than Sammy when he tried alternate recoveries. I believe he was getting morningcall but I was getting some type of certificate or certify error. Was going to try filling the modified images with a dummy file or whatever and see if it worked. I still have my modified recovery. Img on my phone and booting recovery with it does a partial factory reset then throws the error. However the recovery. Img on my phone reports the same block size as if it had stock recovery. Img. I wanted to build the modified image file up to stock size and reflash in case it is just checking recovery size and failing.

Well the LG optimus L9 was unlocked when it got a JB update...lg then allowed the oem unlock cmd to work after that update.

So this is what i say: beg MetroPCS for jellybean!

Man,that was one sick joke
I just watched channel 4 news, someone commited suicide over some internet bootloader spoof.

@sammyz, JB is not the thing which will get you unlocked bootloader, its the decision of the carrier. If someone can post the bootchain from optimus vu2, i might be able to check if it boots any unsigned kernel or not.

I can get you the partitions, im sure the bootchain is the same if not similar

Sure, please pm me the files of devices which you suspect are having same soc with unlocked bootloader, and it would be great if you can also send me the extracted gpt of those devices.

The intuition (variant of vu 2) has no gpt.
The aboot is 3MB and ours is 512KB....its also on 0p7 instead of 0p5.

I havent been able to find the vu 2 firmware that candoopa was speaking of yet.

Cant be, s4 soc must have gpt in order the define partition to the emmc. The older soc's are having mbr. And yes we need the aboot of same size i.e, 512kb

Well it either doesnt exist, or the program fails to find them. Or its not in the tot file, just the phone itself.

best way to look at the locked bootloader... it will never get unlocked!!!!!!

Then if it happened to get unlocked (verified and posted) then get excited. ;)

never say never jinx
besides bobzhome's cm10 rom is getting really close to being perfect anyway.
personally though i would like to see ububntu touch among others to try out
edit: damn i'm effed up. vodka and cranberry cocktail. seeing double.

anyone ever notice this???
Code:
console=ttyHSL0,115200,n8 androidboot.hardware=l0 uart_console=disable lge.rev=rev_10 lcd_maker_id=secondary gpt=enable lge.batt_info=ds2704_l lge_handle_panic.hreset_enable=1 androidboot.emmc=true androidboot.serialno=8b524f5d [B]lge.signed_image=true[/B] androidboot.baseband=msm

and tried to repack the boot.img w/o it???

Didn't try booting a modified boot. Img with a change in that line but I tryed booting with simply a modified boot. Img and it gave a certification error. I want to fill the boot. Img to make it the size of stock and try booting that.
