Root [WIP][DEV] Custom Recovery/Bootloader unlocking Work In Progress Thread

What if the bootloader unlocked only at first boot and on reboot it relocked itself? maybe that's why he didn't post a guide to it yet :p

Is it bad, that I was video chatting with my gf for around 10 minutes after waking up.
Opened a new tab, saw that someone posted the bootloader had been unlocked, is it bad that I told her I had to go because of something important so that I could come and read all of this? xP
I'm a terrible boyfriend :)

I completely spaced that my girlfriend had made dinner, and was at the table waiting for me. Lol.

No wonder lg didn't want the bootloader unlocked, it tears people apart.

not VU it is VU 2

I really am not sure if is locked or unlocked, but the paritions are not signed like all the other LG MSM8960 phones I have seen

kanishk619 are you able to recover with your jtag, if you write a bad sbl1,sbl2,sbl3

if so you are in a pretty good position to test some of the more risky stuff like flashing sbl1 and such

I have not tried flashing slb1,sbl2,sbl3 because i did not want to kill emode

if you are able to recover, i may be able to provide you with some files you can test, i have downloaded a lot of different LG firmware, and i should still have most of it, i can probablyy provide you with the boot loader files needed
 
My girlfriend has a Motorola Atrix HD though, they already had their bootloader unlocked and she was very excited.
I think she'll understand my excitement, and not get mad at me :D
 
Sorry everyone. I didnt know shabby posted that.....I just now went back on AF since last night...

Bootloader is still locked. Unfortunately, LG decided to use same key on Motion bootloader and Lucid 2 bootloader...so when the Lucid 2 bootloader booted the Motion stock kernel, i thought it was unlocked. But nope. It fails to boot an unsigned stock kernel. No idea why shabby hasnt said anything.
