Would you buy this iPad?

I found this quite hilarious, although it really goes to show just how smart people can be. Unless you have always had the dream of throwing an iPad into a fire, but couldn't afford a real one. :p

Woman Buys Block of Wood Thinking It’s An iPad | TheBlaze.com

This was definitely an awesome warning. :)

A warning to all the bargain hunters out there: If you swipe the screen of your new iPad and get a splinter, you may have gotten duped. In addition, a general caution to not make purchases from guys who approach you in McDonald’s parking lots.

Ha. Thats quite ironic, because jobs invented wood...

It would be funnier if it was an Amazon Kindle though.

I thought it was great that the people who sold it to her took the time to paint it and make it look like an iPad, when it was in a sealed box.

this week in Local news (Dallas area)..

a package of new printer paper ... black tape and fake logo, with bestbuy label to look like a ipad in a fedx package. was sold to some suckers.

how do you not look at the device you are giving good money for.. from the side of the road????

That's what happens when have that one track mind. She saw the Apple logo and asume everything was all good.

Honestly, I would not have called the cops if that happened to me. I would've taken the piece of wood and smacked myself on the head with it until it broke. Don't care if it's the piece of wood that broke or my head. I would've deserved it either way.

Really? Do I need to pay Apple for my book shelves? They will likely look like the book shelves displayed when you fire up iBooks. Hope it is not an IP violation; I plan to build quite a few, just as soon as I learn how to properly cut wood.

If you don't, be prepared for a law suit.

i'm laughing, literally LOL at this. not enough chlorine in her gene pool

Thing is, this is an age old scam and people still never learn. These days its wooden iPads, years ago it was cameras. One thought one was buying a fancy SLR camera outfit, when in fact one was buying a house brick. Scammer shows you a nice expensive looking SLR camera, but sells you a sealed camera box which has nothing but a brick inside. Same thing for stereos, portable TVs, etc.

I thought this was hilarious when I saw it. I am a firm believer that the stupid will (and should) be punished. You have to be a real idiot for buying a cheap iPad out of a guys car in a parking lot like that

I remember a friend of mine got taken some what like this. The guy was dressed up in a goodguys outfit and had a tv,car stereos in his trunk. The tv even had the sticker in that top corner and the other stuff was all in boxes. Lets just say my friend bought an item and got home tried to set it up and it was old and never worked. Like someone said, it is an old scam and they will dress the role as well.

This woman wasn't satisfied with her Apple-branded block of wood. But I bet there are people out there who WOULD buy a block of wood if it were officially branded by Apple and legitimately sold as a collector's item or whatnot.

I really don't understand why she would report it. She was trying to get over as well and got the bad end of the deal.

I know a couple of those people too. If it was sold in an apple store they would buy the block of wood.
