Root You Too Can Prevent Liberty Glitches! (ongoing list inside)

No bugs to report so far! I have even installed themes on top of eachother with no probs. I did a complete wipe prior to installing.

I do have one wish though, if its possible I would love to have the option to add the blur battery manager back.

Has anyone else been experiencing random reboots of any kind? Besides getting occasional reboots during phone conversations, I've started getting reboots while the phone is idle (stock voltage and frequencies). Apex was stable at stock settings, so I know that it's not my phone.

I'm getting close to wiping my data/cache to see if some of my reboot issues clear up. I know that keeping data when coming from GummyJar 2.5 is said to be ok, but I'm starting to wonder.

I installed over GJ 2.5 without wiping and thought I had a good install, but I didn't. My Spare Parts FC'd on me all the time from the Menu, Liberty Settings Menu. And I never got the Liberty boot animation (spinning bird), ever, only the flashing ANDROID word. Had the problem of no Market when Revolution Remix theme was flashed as well.

Backed up Apps with Liberty toolbox, and backed up homescreens with Launcher Pro. Wiped data, cache, and system, then reinstalled Liberty from the zip file. Restored apps and Launcher Pro settings, installed the Revolution Remix theme with absolutely no problems. Spare Parts opens from the Liberty Settings Menu with no Force Closing now.

I highly recommend wiping data and cache before installing Liberty.

1.) Occasionally Extended Controls will force close when trying to place the widget on a screen

2.) Sometimes when you download something from the market it will download and not install

3.) If you download the visual voicemail app it will say there is one previously installed and you have to uninstall the Verizon app and you still cannot use it.

4.) Must reboot to get problems from 1 and 2 to be corrected

No random reboots for me though, no battery life percentage errors either.
and i can confirm the keyboard switch error, once all 3 are installed you cannot change between them, it stays on blur gingerbread swype

I can confirm# 2. Usually takes a reboot or two to fix it.

did you install liberty over another rom?

Nope. As stated, I flashed back to stock, wiped data and cache, and then flashed Liberty. After several manual reboots, Liberty settings in the settings menu is still force closing. I have also experienced a rapid battery drop overnight, with my battery dying from zero use from 80% overnight.

Maybe there is a compatibility problem between Liberty and Koush's Bootstrap, like with Obsidian? I noticed that it uses the same Hijack method to install, so maybe the bootstrap is causing problems?

Nope, I suggest you check your Liberty.zip install file you downloaded and make sure it is the correct size (115mb I believe), and then boot into CWM recovery, wipe Data, Cache, and System, then reinstall Liberty for a clean install.

When you say to wipe System, what are you referring to? I wiped cache, data, and dalvik cache before my last install and the problems commenced.

I have a pattern lock screen. When turning the display on/off, it doesn't go to my rotary sliders... it goes straight to the lock screen.

Regardless of the time I set for the lock, I ALWAYS have to enter my pattern when turning off and off.

The only way to fix this is if I remove my password (which I don't want to do).

System, by going to Mount/Unmount, wipe System, press Power button to go back to main recovery menu, then reinstall Liberty from zip.

i cant get the screen to stay on:
- with extended controls i have a widget for always on
- with tasker i have a task to keep the screen on when a media app is running + phone is plugged in

the screen will not stay on for either of these programs. anyone else having similar problems?

P.S. v1.0.2 of the liberty toolbox is out in the market.

My battery life is absolutely HORRIBLE on this rom. I love liberty, prob the best I've ever run, but I cant have battery life like this. 50 percent after 6 hours, and I have the extended battery! bummer...

Ive been having battery issues as well. Ive had my phone since July 15th and never had anything to say about battery life until now. I have crashed through a full charge twice today and barely used the phone. I poked around to see what is using up the juice and took a screen of what I think might be considered a problem.

Ever since i installed liberty my phone will not play any of my videos or my mp3. I have looked and dont see anyone else having this same problem but just wondering if any one has any idea as to what might be causing this. thanks in advance.

next thing i would do is look around in the other menus there...network usage...cpu usage...etc...try and see if you can find any specific user ID's that are doing a lot...

+1

I can take pictures and videos just fine, and i can view my pictures, but when i go to play back my videos i get this error process.android.media cannot open or something like that. It would happen when i was in camera mode after shooting a video i click on the video and it plays but then the force close comes on, but the video will still play. I just tried to reproduce it as im typing and its working fine. Not sure whats up. Other than that amazing rom!!!

Were you guys on 2.2.1 ? Media not working is a common problem for people with the wrong kernel. You will probably need to find a link to to the latest sbf

I noticed the orientation won't change when I am in a call with my phone in the dock. Not a deal killer, but definitely a pain in the a$$.......

I let things sit on the charger over night and checked to see what was running. it seems my Maps has been running almost 7 hours, i guess in the background as ive not uses it. the pic I posted above was pretty much like what it is after sitting overnight doing nothing. Neither we at 100% but both were in the high 80% range.

Interesting. I have had zero issues with my battery. I came from APEX 1.3.1 and it seems I have even better battery life with Liberty.

^ the only thing ive done is flash a theme. I loaded up the BWC Theme. Today the draw hasnt been anywhere near as bad and the system use isnt at 100% like yesterday. I think it was Maps that did the deed. I know I accidentally started googlemaps and then backed my way out. I assume it just kept a going in the background.

Doesn't play well with Exchange 2007. Reports indicate that 2003 and 2010 are working fine.

ApeX and Fission both have no issues with Exchange 2007.

Exchange 2010 through intermedia.net is not working under liberty (also didn't work under gummy), but works in fission. Says that it cannot open connection to server.
